Just hope it works as there are no refunds or exchanges.

And they dont let you open the box to inspect the merchandise before you buy it. I read an story about a family that sopent $1500 on a big screen and got it home to discover the screen was shattered. They went back to Circuit City and they flat out refused to do anything for them. That alone is enough for me to boycott them - just on principle and common sense.

My sister in law had this problem with Best Buy. They accused her of damaging the TV while moving it. She got ot home and it was shattered. She never did get her money back.
To those going to CC. I just bought a Sony XBR at one of the StL CC's (40% off - they had two left in the box). They would not let me open it unless/until I bought it, but before leaving the store I opened it and plugged it in at a testing station. I was told that if it did not work before I left the store that I could get the other boxed set but once it was in my car - sorry charlie. This policy may vary by store, don't know. ANyway, any recomendations for an indenpent ESP? There are a couple on eBay plus MACK and SonyStyle.
upload them to www.PhotoSleeve.com Always free and no limits! Plus it has a handy little upload manager that uploads a quick copy and uploads a full version while you are doing other stuff.

i work at a CC in PA. Our policy for anything is bring it to the testing station and make sure it works before you leave. For TV's we actually have a check sheet that both the warehouse associate and the customer sign. The warehouse unboxes the tv, plugs it in and allows the customer to inspect it before leaving. That way there is signed proof that the TV was fine when it left the store. We have a huge sign by the testing station to tell people to test their merchandise. Some customers just ignore it and the salespersons request that they check their merchandise at the station otherwise they wont be able to return it.

Make sure you open it before you buy. Many have been getting shafted by not being allowed to inspect the merchandise prior to ordering the item and with all sales final, you may get a busted TV with no recourse (thanks to federal bankruptcy law). Infact I believe the store policy does not allow you to inspect the box prior to purchase.
I wanted to ck BB since I still have a gift card for like $50, went to CC today laptops are only 15% off, other items marked up and then you get the 40% or whatever off. Example G15 keyboard marked $112 sell price $67,but its $65 AR on Amazon? hmmm

I understand your point, (that since CC is already going out of business, any additional boycotting will have little affect.) Also, that yours was a witty remark I myself may make.
However, it was dissatisfied customers of CC that certainly contributed, if not caused, their downfall.
