Terrible host. Jeez...just do a Google search and see the sort of shenanigans they've pulled in the last year. I'd go for even HostPC over them. Better yet, take a look at Host Gator. For more modest needs, E-Rice is still a great choice.
777 cannot be using with my chinese ip,show me "Promo code error: Promo code invalid for your region!" MAX09 promo $50.00 off with DH offical alert "Please note: $50 maximum" on their web page
if i changed my ip to the US IP by proxy, MAX09 promo $97.00 off 777 promo $110.16 off
Thanks OP. got it with code 777 for $9.00 and change. I joined before reading the negative comments, but I'll try it for the price. Now I got to find out what a web host is used for!!!

then transfer his domain back to GoDaddy, got another free 1year domain extension(only 7$ Godady transfer fee)
cheeersActually, I think you're wrong. It's a sneaky policy at Dreamhost. Even though your WHOIS information will show a one-year extension after you transfer to Dreamhost, if you try to transfer out of Dreamhost before renewing at the one-year mark for their huge amount of money, you pay $9.99. Can anyone else confirm this?
As cheap as it is, if I really have problems, I can move. I don't expect to get much traffic on my new, upstart website over the next 6 months or so...so I shouldn't have problems.
I'm in for one as well. I've been meaning to set up a website for 10 years now. Even if I just end up using this for my sweet new custom email address and some secure(ish) backup storage I think its a good deal. TY.
The promo image from the front page is gone--is the code still working? Someone I sent the link to Tues. had trouble doing it--if it's still active, I can have him do it Thurs. (He asked me to do it for him, and I was going to, till I remembered that it's for new members and since I just signed up, I guess I'm not a new member anymore?)

looks like they take it very seriously when they say " new customer " only. I had an account I closed a few years back. and they say there are two accounts and will remove the promotion price for my new account. would rather simply terminate it in this case.
