I think,it`s only for new members, but you can read their TOS,and try...

TY!
BTW, site main page says the sale expires 3/16, today! OP's post does say expires 3/17.
Anyway Green for You on St. Patty's day!

They wanted to charge me $22 w/ MAX09. 777 gave me $9.

First post.

Link is not correct, go to dreamhost.com to sign up

i am new to this. if i have GoDaddy domain names, can i transfer it to dreamhost? do they charge to transfer?

thanks

you can use your domain on dreamhost hosting service ,no need to transfer your domain, but yes,you can transfer your domain from GoDaddy to DH if you like,no transfer feee(cos you can register/transfer one domain for free whenyou buy their hosting ...)

dont do that, just point your domain name to the dremhost dns

goddady is better for domain names imo

but he can transfer his domain to DH first, and got 1year domain extension for free(no transfer fee)

then transfer his domain back to GoDaddy, got another free 1year domain extension(only 7$ Godady transfer fee)

Can I host multiple domains on DreamHost for the same price?

$9.24 total, worked as of 2:37am EST 3/17

great deal.

kspen said: Can I host multiple domains on DreamHost for the same price?

you can host your other domains on DreamHost for free, only after you bought their one hosting service with one free domain that you can register or transfer...

Thanks OP! I'll give dreamhost a try for $2.25 above what i'd pay for a year's worth of domain anyways

Thanks! Needed this for a new site - great deal! Just signed up.

Thanks OP!

just signed up, thanks

Thanks OP! Had a free domain registration from GoDaddy that I got through Buy.com, so this worked out great.

does anybody got a confirmation yet? i bought on the 16th with paypal and no confirmation from DH yet.

More details please? Should this deal be avoided? Anything other sites at or near this price for this type of hosting?

Any code that isnt a number is an affiliate code, nice try dinow.
777 is legit, the other ones in your link are for personal gain.

The 777 code didn't work for me. Is there another promo code?

worked for me, thanks OP

is this company any good? will need to host a site in the near future..

Terrible host. Jeez...just do a Google search and see the sort of shenanigans they've pulled in the last year. I'd go for even HostPC over them. Better yet, take a look at Host Gator. For more modest needs, E-Rice is still a great choice.

You get what you pay for. If you need serious uptimes, don't go with this.

why not contact DH staff in your DH account(Dreamhost Web Panel->"Support"->"Contact Support")?

they will let u know that ASAP i think

and today ,i found (Hurry, sale expires 3/18/2009.) on Dreamhost

I am from china,

777 cannot be using with my chinese ip,show me "Promo code error: Promo code invalid for your region!"
MAX09 promo $50.00 off with DH offical alert "Please note: $50 maximum" on their web page

if i changed my ip to the US IP by proxy,
MAX09 promo $97.00 off
777 promo $110.16 off

Thanks

Great deal for the first year but what about year 2? Then you'd be forced to pay the exorbitant prices of Dreamhost?!

Also, 1&1 has a good deal for $2.49/mo for 6 mos and $4.99/mo thereafter. (2 free domains as well)

Thanks OP. got it with code 777 for $9.00 and change. I joined before reading the negative comments, but I'll
try it for the price. Now I got to find out what a web host is used for!!!

Actually, I think you're wrong. It's a sneaky policy at Dreamhost. Even though your WHOIS information will show a one-year extension after you transfer to Dreamhost, if you try to transfer out of Dreamhost before renewing at the one-year mark for their huge amount of money, you pay $9.99. Can anyone else confirm this?

decent deal and just in time for the new site

Signed up.

As cheap as it is, if I really have problems, I can move. I don't expect to get much traffic on my new, upstart website over the next 6 months or so...so I shouldn't have problems.

I'm in for one as well. I've been meaning to set up a website for 10 years now. Even if I just end up using this for my sweet new custom email address and some secure(ish) backup storage I think its a good deal. TY.

Act fast though - this code is only valid for the first 777 customers, or until 3/19/2009 at midnight - whichever comes first - so act fast!

The promo image from the front page is gone--is the code still working? Someone I sent the link to Tues. had trouble doing it--if it's still active, I can have him do it Thurs. (He asked me to do it for him, and I was going to, till I remembered that it's for new members and since I just signed up, I guess I'm not a new member anymore?)

looks like they take it very seriously when they say " new customer " only. I had an account I closed a few years back. and they say there are two accounts and will remove the promotion price for my new account. would rather simply terminate it in this case.

if they supported Java would be perfect but I can't be too greedy! I'll deal w/ RoR
