Its "free" but how much time is it going to cost to sort through all the junk mail they send and shred everything they send with my name on it?

Thanks, signed up my bf. We were just talking about this last night when I mentioned I needed to get my ACLU membership and he mentioned he wanted to join the NRA.
Darn, getting the same error, too.
EDIT: Looks like it's back up, thanks OP.
EDITEDER: minhtruc2000, lol, you downrated my post because... I want to join the ACLU or my bf wants to join the NRA? I'm honestly curious.
Yup -- probably getting hammered. Didn't work earlier but does now.
Anyone seriously interested in being an NRA member but low on cash can also sign-up for their EPL Life program, which charges your credit card (or bills you) $25 quarterly for ten years. Yup -- that's $1000, but pretty easy to afford at only eight bucks and change a month. It includes a publication of your choice if you so choose.

I did this years ago when it was only $750, and will be fully paid-up by the end of the year.
Membership includes the $5,000 accident insurance. However, from what I read, you need to activate it by clicking on the insurance icon after the free sign-up and it asks for your member ID number. Do you receive the ID number via the email you gave at sign-up? My email is not working now so I don't know how fast or if a message gets sent. Thanks!
Awesome... cruised right through on my first click. Thanks for the great heads-up. Seems that NRA is gearing up for a fight if they are offering free memberships.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. That link is, in fact, to a legitimate offer that we have right now. We very much appreciate your input and support! Best Regards, Sarah NRA Member Communications 11250 Waples Mill Road Fairfax, VA 22030 www.nra.org
Not to TC, but think again before joining (especially when you don't know what they are doing). Increase in their membership = increase in their influence over politics. Interest groups offer free or discounted memberships to attract more members, and use it to put some kind of pressure on politicians.
