This is an awesome deal for anyone looking to upgrade. Anandtech's benchmarks shows this card smoking the Nvidia GTX275 and even topping the GTX285 in some games. The card is barely out for a week and this deal puts it in the 4870 price range.
that is compare to some GTX275 high resolution not GTX260 216. Check the scores on anand and firingsquad. It beats the GTX275 on 1920 and under, comparable to GTX285 imo
Sounds good to me. I already have an HD4870X2, so I'll pass on this. Green for OP for the find.

Just bought a 55nm eVGA GTX 260 three days ago otherwise I would definitely have bought this 4890. I have both SLI and CF capable mobos and cards from both camps, so, I'm no fanboy. Glad I'll be saving a few bucks a month with the 260 though.
Thx OP. Was waiting for a 4870 1gb but at this price this is a no brainer.

I almost clicked buy, but I noticed this thing only has a one year warranty. After having my last card crap out 3 weeks after the expired one year warranty, I think I'll pass. Green for OP though. Excellent price.
I've been out of the video card hunt for some time. Can someone please tell me if there is a large advantage with this card over my current GeForce 8800 GTS (besides amount of memory 680 vs 1gb) for gaming?

The warranty period starts from the manufacture date. To determine the warranty entitlement for the product, the Customer must carefully verify the first four digits of the Products serial number. The first two-digit number represents the manufacture year and the subsequent two-digit number represents for the manufacture month. For example: “ 0312 234562 ” means its manufacture date is December, 2003 “ 0402 234562 ” means its manufacture date is February, 2004
Limited Warranty Period by Product MSI VGA Products are warranted for 3 year limited warranty (Two (2) years Parts & Labor, and the third Year Parts ONLY, shipping and handling fee will be required).

An 8800GTS 512 = 9800GTX(+) = GTX 250
Nvidia is just now releasing a cheap GTX 275 which is somewhat the equivalent of this. Expect prices to continue to fall.
This would indeed be a nice upgrade, but the 8800 GTS is still a good card, as well. You aren't hurting in the that department, and your best bet is checking benchmarks and seeing if it's worth your time. If you have the cash and want to upgrade it's tough to argue this price point.
Has anyone rec'd notice of their CashBack on this yet? The time or two I've used a coupon with a live CashBack store, the CashBack didn't go through--in accordance with this provision in Microsoft's Terms & Conditions, I suppose:
You will not earn CashBack rewards on purchases where...(g) you also use a separate discount or coupon.

It should be a healthy boost I think. I just upgraded to this from my 8800GT 512, and I'm expecting it to be worth the jump. It also depends on the resolution you are playing at. I have a 24" monitor at 1920x1200, and so I will get a performance boost from the 1GB instead of the 512MB or 680MB. For a 22" inch or below the 1GB might just be overkill. For the price point, this is a screaming deal.
In response to another post, my CashBack has already posted as pending in my account.
If this card does not work with those listed above, would you kindly suggest the card(s) which will work for these, thanks in advance, Happy Easter....

"You received $11.75 from your SuperBiiz purchase on 4/11/2009."
Now for a 60 day wait to be thoroughly convinced that this will go through.
too bad i've moved on to console for games. I got tired of having to constantly upgrade hardware in order to play latest games. Besides, consoles are where the latest games are headed.

How does this CashBack thing works? I just bought the card. After the MIR, it came up to $214.99. I clicked on the Direct Link for 5%... How do I know I will get back the 5% ?

oohh.. i got an email confirmation for the CashBack... i guess i have to wait for another 60 days.
Although I did buy it yesterday, after doing more research on MSI cards, I did cancel my order. Newegg ratings for other MSI cards are not the best (eg. 4850 and 4890). None the less it still is a super hot deal for the 4890. OP still deserves a GREEN.
What are you guys using for the invoice#? The one on the packing slip or the one on the order page? The one on the order page is the "order#" but comes up as invoice#.
I hate it when they do this... order# and invoice# on rebate forms... throws me off b/c sometimes invoice# is shown as the order#
Why the F do they want the MSI retail price... retarded rebate forms man... they just get dumber and dumber just to SCAM you. What's the retail price... the price we paid?
