Here's a list of where to buy them in the US: http://us.sanyo.com/Batteries/Dealers

I'd like to buy another pair of AAAs.

Is this still going on? I just got in on the RockBand2 Deal from GameStop (posted on FW) and am in need of rechargeables.

Sale should still be going at Costco. I was just there a few days ago and saw 30 on the shelf at this price.

I was there Monday myself, and bought some for my Dad to go with his father's day gift.

I think that, if you don't need/want the kit, HHGregg is the best deal. The price on a 4 pack of AAAs range from $5.50 to $7.00 depending on when they run sales. Personally, I wouldn't want just 2 batteries because I would want to have the 2 extras charged and ready to go when the first set of 2 runs down (i.e., no down time/interruption in using whatever device I'm using). If you are looking for just 2 AAAs to add to the 2 from the Costco kit, just 'suck it up' and buy a 4 pack or split a 4 pack with a friend who bought the same Costco kit (JK ).

I would be much obliged if someone could send me a couple of chargers. I will gladly pay for shipping!

I don't have access to a costco.

Thanks

Can you use any chargers for the enloops? I have a maha energy charger from thomas distributing laying around.

ParatoOptimal said:So, there's a BC-700, BC-900 and now a BC-9009 and the Maha Powerex MH-C9000 WizardOne Charger-Analyzer...

...Where does the 9009 fit in?
Where does the Maha Powerex fit in?
My ranking:

  1. Maha MH-C9000 (own - Jan 2009)
  2. La Crosse BC-900 (own - Dec 2006)
  3. La Crosse BC-9009 (same as BC-900; no idea why they introduced it)
  4. La Crosse BC-700 (useful for AAAs only; insufficient 'Charging Current' for AAs)

If you own a SUBSTANTIAL number of rechargeable batteries and need to recharge them AT LEAST once every ~30-90 days, consider investing in a 'Smart' Charger. Otherwise, don't worry about it so much because they're going to die prematurely from either lack of use or old age anyway...

They are truly 'Bottom-of-the-Barrel' - low current / series (pairs) charging.

Why do you prefer the Maha to the La Crosse?

ParatoOptimal said:Why do you prefer the Maha to the La Crosse? The Maha MH-C9000 has:

    • Break-In Mode (Industry-Standard Algorithm): Charge @ 0.1C for 16 hrs; Pause for 1 hr; Discharge @ 0.2C; Pause for 1 hr; Charge @ 0.1C for 16 hrs. Best way to activate ALL of the chemicals in a brand new cell and re-activate the ignored chemicals (i.e. when a camera shuts down while the cell still has remaining capacity and the user recharges it) in older cells. Maha recommends using it every ~30th charge, but since the majority of my cells are either 'Low Current Draw' (i.e. thermometers, clocks, remotes, Furbys when the grandchildren visit, etc..] or 'Storage Box Queens', I use it every 90-180 days followed by 3 'Refresh & Analyze' cycles @ ~0.75C Charge (with C)apacity based on the results of the Break-In - NOT what's printed on the cell) and 100mA Discharge.

    • Lower Max Voltage with a 2 hour 100mA Top-Off: Avoids overheating when cells miss -DeltaV termination but still finishes the charge cycle with a gentle 100mA Top-Off to provide optimum capacity.

    • Better spacing between cells: Runs cooler, especially at higher charging currents.

    • Finer current control for charge and discharge (see below): Allows me to control the heat on older cells.

    • Separate charge and discharge controls (see below): I can charge at 0.5 - 1.0C and discharge at 0.2C; not limited to 50% of charge rate.

    • Discharge Mode: Measure cell capacity without immediately recharging. Useful for 'Self-Discharge' measurements or to see capacity remaining after camera circuit automatically shuts down.

It's not just the one your friend went to, I posted this several weeks ago:
jeffd said:I just wanted to let everyone know, I've been tracking the hhgregg prices waiting for the return of the $8 AA 4pk, but today it's gone from the website. I stopped by the store and was told they are no longer carried. Man, just 3 months ago and the store was stockpiled with the eneloops.

The website still has the AAAs 4pk for $6.99 and a charger combo, but no AAs. It may be some inventory clearout waiting on a stock reset, but I'm not sure. I remember them getting rid of all the eneloops only to restock them a couple months later.

I now think I should head back to the costco I returned 3 sets when I filled out the suggestion for the battery only pack sku. I may go by there tomorrow when I hit a BatteryPlus for a UPS relplacement.
