I bought HL-2040 more than a year ago from Staples for about $30. It was clearance item back then. I'm surprised that it's considered good deal for this price although I know the model is a little different.
I don't think this is that hot of a deal. This printer is often on sale at Fry's Electronics for around $59.99. In fact, I was able to get one at Fry's about 6 months ago for $19.99 after rebate.
I bought it yesterday for $49.98 at Staples, it has an instant saving of $70 right now. I also bought some cheap school supplies and used the $5 off $50 newspaper coupon. Very nice little printer.
