Blendtec HP3A blender from USAblender.com (formerly called Blendtec-hp3.com) Original price: $399.95 use $75 off coupon code: HP3A after coupon, the price is $324.95 shipped in continental US
They sell at eBay as well but the listing price is higher. It's cheaper to buy directly from their website.
I recommened this high-speed blender (Blendtec is used in Startbucks; Vita-mix in Jamba Juice) over Vitamix since it comes with automatic cycles and much easier to use.
Update 1: Now they offer the BPA-free jar version at no extra charge! In additionan, a LARGE 3-quart jar package is available. Cheers!
Damned good blender, although I'm partial to Vita-Mix because I spent a lot of time with them in the bar business.

This is a slick blender. Although I personally own a VitaMix, this blender will fit under a kitchen cabinet, whereas the Vitamix will not.

I've been used it for a couple years It has 1-touch keypad with pre-programmed cycles Very easy to use I don't need to wait for it to stop
Are these the exact same blenders with the HP3A marketed to retailers?
This question is the only one holding me back from making this purchase.
HP3A blenders are distributing among Blendtec dealers for retail. Blendtec sell Total Blender exclusively (actually an older model) on their company website. I recommened the newer HP3A since it's an improved model (compared to Total Blender); comes with stainless Keypad, 1-to-4 numbered keypads, 4 colors and 25 cycles!
Nice blender and nice price. I saw this demo'd at Costco, but it wasn't the HP3A. Price was $385, but it came with 7 years on the warranty (Costco gave another 4 years).
DaveWB said: Will it blend? That is the question YES! Feel free to actually follow the links given in the post and on the website to see how well it blends. This is a commercial quality blender. You could use this behind a busy bar or in a restaurant kitchen on a daily basis.

Well according to the website "... for years blending professionals have used Blendtec machines..." You know you can't argue with blending professionals.

That's right. We started to buy stuff out of state to save on sales tax. This is not so environmental friendly and maybe bad for the state we live in. But, it's FATwallet-friendly.

Just received mine today and I already love it! I will add though I purchased the "coffee" colored one and am disappointed in the color. I wanted to not have the usual "blender" color so was waffling between the red and coffee. I chose the coffee and discovered that due to the material used for these blenders the "color" ones really do not reflect the quality of the blender.IMO
I had never seen one in person so I went with the pictures on the internet...IMO you don't notice the texture of the blender base and it just does not look right with the coffee or red.
IMO I would stick with the black or white (and I am guessing the white would translate the best considering the type of plastic used on the base)
Of course due to the price of these blenders I had a VERY high expectation about everything with the blender. Nothing wrong with the blender at all...just an opinion on the aesthetics of the "color" ones for those like me that have not seen a HP3A in person but are buying one on the internet at this great price.
It is hard to understand how awesome these blenders are until you use one. I actually ordered a replacement for my Champ (the old model) a few weeks ago. These can be used to juice almost anything including carrots, beets, cabbage or even fruit with the seeds left in. I use mine every morning to make smoothies.

I have been using my HP3A for 4 weeks. I really like the pre-programmed cycle since I can move around without waiting on the side to shut it off. It comes with the new jar (BPA free) and a vented lid that has a big opening. So I can add stuff in whenever I like. My friend owns an old HP3A and she loves the new design!
By the way, I purchased from Blendtec-hp3.com use the coupon code "HP3A" to get $75 off. Their shipping is fast and the No-hassle warranty (they will pay for the shipping label if anything goes wrong with blender) is great. I highly recommend this blender. Cheers!
My first vita-mix was purchased in 1987.... and is still my EVERYDAY machine.
I bought a 2nd one in 2002... because I wanted the new style (polycarb container instead of steel).
Both are still running PERFECTLY... Yeah, I actually have to stand there and push the button, instead of pressing a programmed button... but for most drinks it is less than 1 minute. for ICE CREAM, it it less than 3 minutes. For SOUP (HOT SOUP), it is about 6 or 7 MAX.
Any long standing Blendtec owners here have WORKING machines older than my vita-mix's???
