This is another darn good Sony Card offer. Get a new Sony Card and you qualify to get the Sony Reader Digital Book (PRS-505/SC) for $150. It's MSRP is $299. That's $149 off of list price or a 50% savings. This competitive with the Kindle.

You will have to purchase it on the Sony Rewards site and use your Sony Card. Once you get approved for the card you will have to go back to the offer page (link below) to get the $150 deal on Sony Rewards by clicking on the Redeem Now button. Once you place the order, you will get $150 card credit if you buy it with your Sony Card. The link below is the offer page where you can sign up for the card and purchase the Reader.

The cheapest I was able to find it on other sites is $269 so this is a pretty good deal.

Oh really? You can get $150 off if you buy a PS3 too. In fact, you can do that for cellphones, Blue Ray players, etc. Am I missing something?

You can get a used 505 from eBay with the 8% CashBack for about $170 i think with this you have to pay $300 + tax and shipping and then minus $150 which is about the same price

I applied for the card and was approved, but the Sony Rewards site doesn't recognize my card account. I'm assuming this is because I haven't activated it yet. Now debating whether I should activate before receiving my card (defeating the point of card activation) or wait for the card to arive and hope the PRS-505 deal still stands.

I bought my 500 and later 505 with previous Sony card offers. GREAT DEAL!! I was thinking about the 700 but loved the clarity of the 505 screen better...
One thing you may want to consider is investing into a Sony accidental breakage warranty - covers a one-time unit replacement if you drop or trash your reader with its fragile screen for 1-3 years.
In addition to the website, you can also buy a Sony reader from a SonyStyle Brick and Mortar store if you have one near you.

I purchased the PRS-505 in July, received a $52 credit from Sony but still waiting for another $100 credit from Chase.
Unfortunately I lost a printout with the details of this offer.
I would appreciate if somebody could send me a copy of the deal.
