I know it doesn't have HSDPA. Does it matter with Skype call? Anyone has experience making a Skype call on E63 through At&T 3G network?

What is your point? E71 at same pricing point on better specs or comparing apple to orange? An E63 works wonder as a very capable PDA phone for most people at this pricing point. Plus Amazon has great customer service. I ordered two and return both earlier for difference issues without any problem. Although I find keys are a bit cramped for above average fingers.

I was reading through the fine print for the mail-in rebate and had a question. If I bought one of these for me and another for a family member, Would I still qualify for 2 mail-in rebates if we both live in the same household? The fine print reads:
'For Nokia E63, Nokia E75, Nokia 5800, Nokia N85 or Nokia N79 phone purchases, offer limited to one (1) Visa prepaid card per qualifying phone with a maximum of two (2) prepaid cards per household.'
Would it make a difference if the rebates were submitted under two different names who reside in the same household?
edit: Another question. Do the gift cards come stamped with a name on them so that only that person can use it?
I've received Visa Prepaid card rebates from t-mo, sandisk, corsair...all have my name, the word DEBIT, and the VISA logo on them.
My understanding is they are processed like a debit-as-a-credit card. The instructions for the card tell you to use it as a credit card even though it has the word DEBIT written on it. The merchant processes it like a credit card so it requires a name, expiration, etc.
You should qualify if you submit 2 forms. Call the number on the form if you're still uncertain.
I've bought Amzn gift certificates with rebate cards to reduce hassle since I hate keeping track of the balance or potentially being denied/overdrafting.

It's great because the unlimited non-PDA plan is $15 a month and I have a 15% employee disount through my work. I'm paying less than $13 a month!

Where do you get unlimited non-pda plan for $15 a month? As per their website it is $19.99 for 100MB.

thanks. So again, I just want to be sure that the unlimited data plan for non pda will work with these phones and that at&t will not switch my plan to a pda-dataplan that is 30 dollars?
Hello, can one install SSH client on this phone? for example putty or something which ofcourse needs to be reliable.(secure and not a trojan). I also have question about that dataplan or media net whatever att calls it, how useful would it be the 100MB plan if someone wants to check gmail 3-4 times a day and use local transoprt tracker for 1-2 minutes a day..

Maybe you already have a PDA phone plan? Then it may only show you the PDA plans. Change your phone to some other random non-PDA phone and then see what happens.

Google can help you find it.
Any reliable sites to get free apps for this thing. There are a lot out there, but I guess it's all new to me. I tried installing pacman, but it froze in the middle of installation and it scared the bejezus out of me. I had to remove the battery to restart. Now I have this feeling that I just installed something evil hiding in the background.

I need MicroUSB cable for this phone because my medion lappy does not have bluetooth and also don't want to pay for symSMB for network sharing. I ordered a cable at Meritline but is a backorder. Does anyone one know where to get this cable cheaply. ca-101 which Nokia recommends is very costly by the way.

You can get this cable from flebay quite cheap as long you have enough patience to wait for it 2 weeks.

I was considering this for myself. Product reviews and merchant feedback seems good.

I know this adds nothing to 'hot deal' aspect of this thread, but since I spent couple of hectic hours trying to make my new E63 working with home WiFi, just want to share the findings with other fatwallet fellows who are having the Netgear DG834GT dsl modem/router (which was probably also hot deal couple of years ago)...
Briefly, if you want to use WPA encrypted connection, router has to be updated with latest firmware, and the following has to be set: Wirelles Settings -> Security Options -> WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK
If you set the router to 'WPA PSK' only, E63 connects to it, and works 'for a minute or so' and then... the connection hangs.
Other than this, E63 is damn cute, waay smaller than the product picture at Amazon depicts...

Since its on Amazon and they are out of stock right now, so if i order now will i still be able to get the rebate by the time Amazon has it in stock again?
I think you check the rebate form if they have it on site, Form has a date on it by which the form should be submitted to avail the rebates.
By the way does anyone here know if there is a way to verify with Nokia if they received rebate form for Nokia e63

You should be fine since the date of order will be on the receipt. And as long as it comes in stock and ou submit the rebate before the expiration date. I plan on ordering one as aoon as Amazon gets it back in stock.
