Excellent deal especially w/ the free shipping and free return shipping if not satisfied. I ordered 3 myself when this was posted a few days ago, but for some reason searching "Vornado" w/o the quotes is not returning any results, not even to this post.

* edited to add the price drops to 50$ each for orders of 2+ my order was not limited to 2.

Anyone know what happened to the older thread on this that was posted last week? I think the topic header started with Amazig or something like that. I was hoping to see peoples feedback on their purchase before ordering one or two, specifically on how quietly these operate. I've had a couple Vornado fans in the past and they very in how quite they are and was hoping for a comparison.

Sorry about the repost, guys. As whirr mentioned, the original thread is does not come up when searching for Vornado.

The original thread was deleted because it was spam.

Yeah, that is weird. I ordered mine from the original post just fine as well. Unless moderator meant they were spamming stuff in the thread, doesn't matter.
I just hope these things are worth all the hype everyone is posting.

The moderators removed the Electrolux Vacuum thread too and claimed it was a referral. That's odd - why didn't they just fix the link instead of removing the entire thread.

I ordered also. No problems. Shipped very promptly. What was spam about this? Pfft...

Those who ordered, please post your reviews. $60 is a lot to spend on a fan, but if it does a great job, it may be worth it.

Yes, please, reviews. Is it noisy?

just received mine ordered from the thread mod closed. anymoo, it's quiet and very cool. and i'm in north texas where it's 96ish right now.

I received mine today. Not a bad fan at all, but it doesn't move as much air as I would expect for a plastic $60 fan (and that's at a discount). The 6 position switch is pretty cheesy, but the rest of the fan is pretty solid.

Overall I am satisfied, but I was expecting more performance for a $60 fan.

That's a bummer.

Mine gets here tomorrow. If it's not excellent, for $60 for a fan, it's getting shipped back.

When they say it 'moves air up to 100 feet,' they're creating high expectations.

My other $6 and $14 fans move air 20 feet or so...

i don't know but mine are going great. i normally have the ac on at 78 and the ceiling fan on at night. but since i got the vornado, ceiling fan is off and ac doesn't come on as often during the night. i was running it at the lowest speed and have to use a light blanket last night. and the one kept in the family room, it gives me a little chill when i sit 10-15 feet from it.

i'm happy with my purchase of 2 for $100.

in for two
Thanx O/P!

Got mine yesterday. I wasn't initially blown away (pun intended) with the amount of air they move, but I will say they do seem really good at circulating air and lowering the overall temperature without having to have them blowing right on you. They are quiet for the amount of air they move, but certainly not silent. They are also small and light and easy to move around. I've had a few cheaper fans all but disintegrate after a couple of years, with grills and stands falling apart and motors getting noisy. If these last as long as some say, I'll be happy.

Got mine today and while it's plastic, it's definitely built better than most.

Too bad it doesn't oscillate, and there are only three angles of direction (vertical) you can set it at.

It is definitely not silent, but isn't really loud either, given the amount of air it does move.

Well I got mine today and I'm not really impressed. While it does push a lot of air, I don't see how it moves air 100 feet. This is not to say that I even need or want it to. After reading the directions, I'm not exactly sure how to set it. From the pictures, you cannot tell whether or not it is to face slightly upward or slightly downward. I'm assuming upward, so that's how I've had it set but I don't feel any cooler unless I am sitting directly in front of it. I don't think its cooling down the room at all.

I think you set it on the lowest portion of the plastic legs, unless you want to push air towards the ceiling.

I think I'm going to return mine, because $60 is too much for this. It's not that much better than any regular fan I've used.

Please go ahead and return it, so I might be able to get it for $40 couple months later probably from W00t as refurbished, which save me more for a great fan!

The way this move Air 100ft is it pulls 50 feet of air from the back and push the air 50 feet forward. There's the 100ft.

Just got my fans today as well. It has 3 positions. Lay down on the floor facing forward, straight up to the ceiling and 45 degrees diagional.

I had an vornado that I purchase from Amazon 5 years ago like the stand up one by with a shorter pole. It was still working until I took it apart to see what make it so powerful. Inside there is some heavy gauge electric wires that delivers the power to the motor. After I took it apart, it stop working, luckily this deal came along.

Doesn't Vornado have a 10 Year No Questions Asked return policy if the fan quits working?

I got it thru Amazon 5 years back and it was a refurb. I am sure it still works, it will be a weekend project for me and my multimeter. Just hope I don't get electricuted.

Just make sure you don't do the same to your 20-yr old Toyota Corolla!

I have one of the old ones and one of the 5 speed premium ones. In the summer I have them running 24/7 inside the house. 1 downstairs blowing upstaris, and one upstairs blowing towards my kid's room.

They literally on for 4 months straight. They have done this for 2 summers now. No issues. The Perimium one has a strange buzz but it goes away after it runs for about 10 min. It was there when I bought it but was too lazy to return.

They move air better than normal fans, and the ability to angle them up stairs is a REAL bounus for me since it really projects air further than normal fans.

I too wanted a bigger "blower" but for the noise it produces (or lack thereof) and for the utility, I still think these fans are worth it.

Got my two Vornados today. They are nice fans, no doubt, but I think my expectations were too high. I was expecting a fan-tornado, and instead I got two nice fans. These are definitely better than the $20 fan from the supermarket. But, if I had paid the $99 retail price, I would be majorly pissed. For $50 a piece, they are probably just barely worth it. If they end up lasting a long time, I'll be happy with the purchase.

Its only 11 years. I do hope to get at least 20 years out of it thou. Just put 4 brand new Michelin tires on it from the recent costco deal.

Back to the Vornado, unpacked both of them and using one for the kids room and another one to cool down my PC which are running under 40 degree C.

Expected them to really move some air, they don't - at least no better than the less expensive fans at Lowes. I'm most likely going to drop these back to the manufacturer for a return (under their "Risk Free Guarantee".

I went to Bed Bath & Beyond to special order online and have the manager match the manufacture's website along with the free shipping. Then applied the 20% coupon and it came off $39.99 each plus tax. Got the 2 fans in 2 days. Great deal.

Now that's a great deal!

I'm a big fan of Vornado fans, and think this is a great deal! I've had one going in the bedroom and one in the basement every summer for years, and they do a lot to keep the house comfy ---and I love the fact the AC doesn't run all the time. I purchased a copy from Costco last week, and have not been pleased with it---it looks like a Vornado, but doesn't do the job. I've just put in an order for two of these, and can't wait to give them a spin. (ha!)

Thanks OP! I have the heater and it really does help. I am hoping the fans are as good.

I have had 2 vornado fans in the past. I ordered this one and when I received it, my first impression was that the build quality isn't quite as good as the old ones (The first one I had was may be 8-9 years ago). When I turned it on, I realized it's also defective. I turned it to setting 1 but the fan would be off. I had to wiggle the switch to get it to operate. I just emailed them to ask for a replacement. Hope I'll have better luck with another one.

deal still on. as far as $60 fans go, this is a pretty good deal. in for 1.

this will give you more insight on the fan:
