Thanks! Just by random chance happened to be messing with my Yahoo domain today, thought about getting my other domain name set up again and searched FW, and sure enough here's a deal posted a few hours before. Hard to beat < $10 for a domain and simple hosting..

Hey puttsey ... thanks! Perfect timing! One year hosting for $9.24 plus a free domain for life of contract... very happy camper.
Hmm... The deadline was changed to 6/13. I guess it will be changed to 6/14 tomorrow, and continue.

It's interesting that if you go to the account settings and change the Auto Renew to Ending Today you'll get credited over $100 back. I don't know whether they'll let you go through with this though since you didn't actually pay the actual amount.
Interesting. Why don't you try it and let us know the result.

i've been with them for years and for the money i don't see any other host providing the same level of service or anything BETTER than makes me compelled to move.
Did you get any discount for renewal? If not, it's not cheap at all.

i get a discount but it is about 7-8$ a month after the first year. there would need to be alot of value to move 10+ dynamic websites and co-ordinate downtime. time is money
regardless even if the service is fair-decent for the money; it is consistently so. don't have to worry about your webhost going under and disappearing in this economy.
Thanks OP! My other business pays $15 per month to host plus I have to keep paying for my domain name! This was a great find, especially in this economy when starting up a business is risky! Yes, the date was expiring today... we'll see what tomorrow is...
Thx OP for the great deal. After year one though, the rate can definitely be beaten. If anyone is looking for longer terms, HostMonster has their 3 year plan at $3.95/month when signed up for 3 years. Domain included. I use HostMonster and could not be happier. The cpanel interface is also much better in my opinion.

It is typical of Dreamhost's specials.
From what I have seen, every promotion they offer on the main page of the site (i.e. x years of hosting for $xx.xx) always has a script that simply updates to the current day (hurry, ends xx/xx/xxxx!) until they are ready to pull it.
I've been with them for several years now and for the price have been very pleased with the service.
any good Domain Parking service providers? Google parking won't approve some of my domains.

Is it easy to transfer the domain you register as a part of this deal to another registrar?

Even though the link is dead, the code "777" still works for -$110 and change.

BEWARE OF LINKS TO DREAMHOST!
I just had a very interesting email exchange with dreamhost customer service. It appears that you can get a year of hosting for $9.24 with coupon code 777. But you need to meet two criteria to qualify. 1) You have to be a new customer. 2) You can't, at any time, click on a link to dreamhost provided by one of their (as I like call them) "Referral Fortune Seekers".
Apparently, existing customers get a referral fee for anyone they send to dreamhost. But those referrals are not eligible for the $9.24/first year deal. The most they can get is $50 off. So even though I'm a new customer, because I clicked on someone's link at one point in my research process, I am not eligible for the program. Also because I started the process of registering they have my name, address, email address, etc on file so I can't just register from a different computer. (not that I'd want to at this point anyway)
LESSONS LEARNED: 1) Don't ever click on links from someone else's site...just in case. Go directly to the site. 2) Dreamhost encourages deceptive marketing and I won't support them to that end.

I've been looking for Dreamhost coupons today and keep finding this mythical 777 code. Wish it still worked. So far, the best I found is 20% off with SAVE20PERCENT... Anyone used this one yet?
