I was able to purchase my ps3 through Dell at 20% off and still receive the credits for it, since Dell is an "authorized" Sony retailer. I received the statement credits within the week, but this was with the PS card which is still offered on the Sony style site. You have to spend 3k to get additional credits, but I did and wound up with a 160 GB ps3 for $133 shipped after credits. Plus I get Sony rewards points for the other purchases which I typically redeem for ps3 games or blu-rays, so the card deals are pretty sweet if you are a heavy credit card user like me.
Your posted deal offers a larger upfront credit for someone looking to buy just the ps3, and not use their card a lot. In either case green for Sony card offers.

I know what you are thinking so be careful.
Fine Print: Your first single sales receipt purchase made at SonyStyle.com, equal or greater than $299 ("Qualifying Purchase") will automatically qualify you for a $150 Statement Credit. Statement Credit will be posted to your Sony Card Statement within 8-12 weeks from Qualifying Purchase.
Just a quick note for whoever decides to go with the deal. I got this deal back in Christmas, and bought the PS3 from Dell which was a Sony approved merchant. Dell had it on sale for $50 cheaper than listed price + FW CashBack + $150 credit. The credit came through, however BUYER BEWARE. Read their disclosure/small print or whatever careful, and keep all your receipt. There were several steps involved. I don't know whether it still applies in this case, but it's worth mention here. 1. After you received your Sony CC, register at its website. 2. From your Sony CC account, request a credit for the PS3 purchase. You might need the PS3 serial number at this point. 3. Once the request is verified, a rebate link is showed up on your account. You will need to fill this out, and mail it. Again, photocopy extra and keep them just in case. 4. Check your account to know if the rebate is approved. 5. The $150 credit will go back to your card AFTER 8-10 weeks. That is like nearly 3 months. NOTES: - During this time, you are accumulating Credit card interest if you don't pay the full balance. - Not sure what your interest rate is given, but they could legally up the interest rate. So, the sooner you pay, the better. Otherwise, they will eat up $10-$30 interest fee on your balance. 6. After 8-10 weeks, your CC statement will have a credited amount. You will have to call customer service to request them to mail this check to you.
Anyway, it's hassle, but it works! So there you have it, and your call if you want to go through it. If you are broke, don't even attempt to try, or else you will pay for more than what it worths.
according to the disclosure the first purchase of $299 is elgible for 0% interest for 12 monthes. If not paid off you are liable for a year of interest at 10.24%, not too bad for a store financing offer

Looks like they tightened the belt on the qualifying purchases. The fine print on the Playstation Card currently says "purchase(s) made at SonyStyle.com only." Prior to March 31st it read, "first qualifying purchase of $299 or more made from SonyStyle or a Sony approved merchant is eligible." Pretty much any expensive thing you bought from any Sony approved merchant used to get you the credit, and I got mine on an Uncharted 160 GB PS3 bundle. It was nearly instant, because I got it the same week that my purchase went through from Dell. So I was able to stack it with Dell's 20% off, but it had said that offer expired March 31st. It appears they have revived the dead with different fine print.
i got in on the last Nov, 2008 deal. Got my PS3 from Amazon. 5 months later, I have to call Sony and the CSR sent me an expire rebate claim form and told me to change my purchase date and return it. Just got my credit in the card, called and received the $150 check from Chase after 8 months. If u buy a from SonyStyles, the refund is a lot quicker if not instant. Of course, u may have to pay shipping and sales tax.

I got in on the Playstation Card (not Sony card) deal. Signed up for card and then purchased from Dell same day.
6/10 Placed Order $399-15% coupon. 6/11 Charged by Dell on Credit Card 6/14 Credit $100
Now time to spend $3000!
Er... wait... so it worked at Dell even with the new wording? This wording has been in effect since the beginning of June. So it worked at Dell... and it only took a few days instead of 8-12 weeks to get the $100 credit? I'm puzzled.
Your first single sales receipt of any products or services purchase(s) made at SonyStyle.com only, equal or greater than $299 ("Qualifying Purchase") within the first 45 days your account is open will automatically qualify you for the first $100 Statement Credit. The first $100 card credit will be applied to your PlayStation Card account 8-12 weeks after your Special or Qualifying Purchase
You will qualify for a second $100 card credit when you charge to your PlayStation Card account an additional $1,500 within the first 3 months of account open date. You will qualify for a third $100 card credit when you charge to your PlayStation Card account an additional $1,500 by your 6 month anniversary. Limit of three (3) $100 card credits to each new PlayStation Card account, after each qualifying spend limit is met within the specified timeframes described above.
the Playstation card still works. YES! Sorry I hijacked the thread. Just wanted everyone to know the playstation card worked still too. YMMV with the Sony Card.
I made the purchase on the 18th, but because Sony did not charge my credit card until 25th, I only received $100 credit, instead of $150. I am in the process of disputing the credit with Chase right now
By the way, I don't exactly remember the fine print (forgot to print a copy grrr!). Is $150 split into two parts (like you get $100, and then followed by $50 later?) or is this one single $150 credit?
How long does it take to get approved for the card at SonyStyle.com? I have great credit and was expecting an instant appoval. They gave me a reference # and didn't say how they would let me know if I'm approved. Hopefully I receive an email with the one time use account and cv2 #.
