Was going to jump on this deal when it started a few weeks back, but decided that I really didn't need it and $80 is a lot to wait for.
Are we sure BestBuy is a "Authorized Pioneer or Pioneer Premier Dealer"?

This mail-in Rebate is not valid for any purchases from the following stores (in lieu of mail-in rebates, instant rebates are to be offered at such stores at time of purchase during the time period of this Rebate): Best Buy in-store retail sales only.
So you have $80 instant rebate (free car kit) but not eligible for mail-in rebate.

Wouldn't the rebate be valid if you buy it on-line for delivery?
On the XM radio website they are offering this radio with the free home/ bonus car kit and the $80 rebate. Final price is $129.99 with free shipping.
The final price, without the questionable $80 rebate, from BB is like $172.
If they offer the rebate, why can't I buy it on-line at BB and get the rebate? The rebate form specifically states in-store purchases from BB.

You should be able to get the rebate if you buy on line from best buy.
The rebate actually states that you cannot get the rebate if you buy in store from best buy.
There are several places selling this set up for about $100 after rebate. I almost purchased from Crutchfield, but thought it worth while to save $20 and go through best buy.
By the way, extra car kits are very cheap for this unit. $15 shipped from Amazon.
HSN has this radio with both kits for $149.95 and free shipping. I think they only charge tax in some states. It seems the rebate would be valid for this site. I'm not sure how reliable HSN is though. Never bought anything from them.

You need to pay $12 for shipping.

Thanks. Seems a little skimpy though. I'd expect the list to be longer.

The rebate wants a sales receipt with the name and address of the authorized dealer. Anyone have any idea how to get a bestbuy.com receipt with an address on it???

Bestbuy.com receipt is good for the rebate as it prints.
I got a message back from HSN CS and they don't have a rebate on the radio. I sent a ? to the rebate processor asking them. If the rebate is not good for HSN, I'll return it and buy it from BB.

Is it eligible for rebate f I buy online and choose in-store pickup to save on shipping ($12)?

The receipt will still say bestbuy.com, so I would think it would work.
I was going to do that, however, my store did not have any in stock.
chumley18 said: i also bought this from HSN with a 15.00 coupon. Does it look like your going to get the 80.00 rebate?
I hope so. I sent in the rebate yesterday. I don't see why we shouldn't. Someone posted a link to what is supposed to be authorized dealers. The rebate is available if you buy the radio directly from XM but they aren't listed on the Pioneer site.

thanks for the update. I called the rebate center (888-295-7742)listed on the rebate form and the only exclusions were bestbuy online or instore.

Are you sure busebuy.com orders are not eligible for the rebate? I ordered online for in-store pickup.

The form excludes in store purchases (really weird if you ask me). Probably because the store and online are two separate companies. If your paid for it online, that's what you're receipt will say. If it was a "click and pull" type transaction and you paid at the store, you might have a problem.
If the rebate goes through, which I think it will, the radio with the free month, waived activation, no shipping, no tax, $15 off HSN, the car kit and the home kit the whole thing will be about $55. Not bad!

I just got a postcard stating that my purchase (from bestbuy.com) was denied because it was an invalid location.
When I read the form, I took it as they would only deny in store Best Buy purchases only, so there should be no problem with online. Time to call and fight...

I haven't submit the rebate yet. It seems I need to return it to Best Buy. I ordered from bestbuy.com. garrett1812 said: I just got a postcard stating that my purchase (from bestbuy.com) was denied because it was an invalid location.

I called and they approved the rebate. Some BS excuse about why it was denied. I have always figured these rebate companies randomly deny a certain amount of rebates knowing a lot of people wont call to correct their 'mistake'.

My BB invoice (on-line store) was rejected as "invalid purchase location". I called and spoke to a supervisor who said they will review and let me know. The initial rep who spoke to me said that I already got a discount when I bought the unit, so disqualified me for the rebate. My answer was that the rebate does not state that a sale price invalidates the rebate, it only speaks about "authorized pioneer or pioneer premier dealer." I have little hope to see any $$.

I am getting the same run around from pioneer saying that invalid price must be 299 or above. I paid $100 from 6Ave which is a Dealer for pioneer. I hope I don't have to take legal action. No where in the fine print does it state a minimum price.
Receive an $80 Mail-in Rebate When You Purchase a Pioneer XMp3 at an Authorized Pioneer or Pioneer Premier Dealer Submission Type: MAIL-IN Date Received: 07-20-2009 Status Detail: Your rebate is valid and is scheduled for final processing.
This is my status as of now.

I just bought this off HSN yesterday and i used a 15 off 45 promo code from what i got in the mail. It came to
Subtotal: $114.95 S&H: $9.95 Tax: $10.93 Total: $135.83 You Save $15.00
Is there a way to use the rebate on this? I got the 4 payment flex pay which is 20 something a month.
Is this deal for current subscribers only? I was thinking of buying an XMP3 and signing up, but I don't think XM is worth the full $15/month.

I did finally get my rebate, but I was not really supposed to. I gave the supervisor a lot of grief because I said over and over again that it does not say anything that buying it on sale is not qualifying. That is true about the rebate form (which was what I had in front of me when I called) but the Pioneer web site does state that a sale price disqualifies you for the rebate. I guess I am just lucky...

I got my rebate without a hitch. It ended up costing me about $50 for it!
