yes, it doesn't have HDMI.

btw...this card is great, I could effortlessly overclock it to 700 / 1750 / 1000 (core / shaders / memory), getting me a score of 11k+ with 3dmark06.

Hmm, this is a very good deal but going to have to pass (I'm looking for a lower powered - higher performing card)
I have only a 300-350 watt psu in my computer and it runs my 8600gt just fine, it just depends if the PS can reliably deliver enough power on the +12V rail. This seems to take ~25% more power than an 8600gt.

btw...one thing I forgot to mention is that the 9600gso has hardware support for decoding H.264 video, so previously I'm using 50% cpu when viewing a 1080p mkv file (Using e5200 o/c to 3.5 ghz), and after installing the 9600gso, I'm using only about 25% cpu, a great improvement. I don't know if 8600 has this support...

Well it actually uses more like 100% more power, 8600gt (40-50w) 8800gs/9600gso (80-90w). That being said, you more than likely can get away with this card depending on your current system. (Unless you have a P4, Athlon FX, or early model quad core)

Lost Circuits CPU power chart

So assuming a 75w CPU

75w CPU
85w 9600gso
30w chipset
5w ram
15w HD
20w DVD/Fans/misc

Total 230w maximum theoretical usage. It would probably be well under 200w. Less than 150 on the 12v (12.5A) If you PSU says 18a on the 12v you'll be more than fine.

So 230/300 = 75% usage

If you're more than worried, get a 4680, 4770, 9600gt, Energy Efficient 9800gt.

A good read on power.

8600 has pure video 2 which does accelerate H.264

8600 class of cards are very poor compared to this generation, power hungry for half the performance. It's a no brainier. Alt-F4 the 8600

oops my bad. i mean pny 9600 qso 768MB compared to this card. thanks.
