W Hotels has just released its latest employee discount code good for 40% off the W bed / mattress, pillows, featherbeds, sheets, etc. They also have all this other cool stuff you probably never knew you needed and the code works for everything.
I was actually seriously considering buying one of those sets until doing some really quick searching....still open to the idea, but those reviews have me seriously worried...

(plush top I take with a grain of salt, the pillowtop one is the one that has me particularly hesitant)

I've had the plush top for about 2 1/2 years now ($645 delivered for a queen set... bought using one of the previous discounts)... still very comfortable and shows very few signs of wear. It's held up better than the previous Serta that we had (and paid more for even 10 years earlier). I'd recommend it.
The other good deal at the time is that I was able to get bonus points on my Starwood AMEX.

I've worked in a furniture store: never buy the pillowtop. A regular mattress with a featherbed topper on it will last A LOT longer.

Closing on a house soon and can use the upgrade...

Promo Code DADDY is better deal than OP's code for smaller orders. DADDY code gives 20% off and free shipping ($6.95 standard shipping cost).
Freakazoid84 said: (plush top I take with a grain of salt, the pillowtop one is the one that has me particularly hesitant) I am with the other guy, PILLOW top is a MISTAKE. I have had nothing but problems with my current non-W bed, and have been doing a lot a research to find what will work well for me. I am a big guy, 300+lbs, but a good portion of that is dense muscle tissue--thus less surface area. The bed does nothing but sag and cause me to sleep very uncomfortably and in very odd positions.
I am been doing tons of research looking for a good bed, and I don't think the W is a fit for me either (lots of "soft" reviews), but I am dead set on a plush top or foam mattress no matter what.
I've got a plush top that's about 2-3yrs old. Lately it's been pretty saggy. In fact, I was going to look up the warranty on the mattress as we are not super happy with how soft it's become in just a few years.

Got my plush top 2 years ago for about $700 delivered.. With my memory foam topper, this mattress is the most comfortable one I've ever had.

I got it using the 50% off coupon at that time... haven't seen one of those in a while, so this might be the best you'll see for a while. Still a good deal IMHO.

Those reviews really surprise me? We have had our PillowTop for two years and we love it. I wish we had purchase one earlier. We purchase with a 40% coupon and it was a great deal. I wonder if it is a weight thing. Both me and my wife are not very heavy. I am 165 and she is 108. Our bed does not show any impressions.

I reread the reviews. Wow! I can't remember seeing so many bad reviews for a product. Posts with so much anger. They also look legit.

Once you purchase a new mattress, it is important to remember to rotate your mattress every 90 days(or every 180 days at a minimum) from top to bottom and bottom to top, so it wears more evenly; otherwise, it may sag due to pressure being on the same locations at all times.

This is a one sided pillowtop unless they have changed it. I have been using the mattress for three years now and it is pretty damn good! I can feel the diff from the $400 mattress my roommate sleeps on.
I guess you are probably talking about just flipping it for a few mins and then flipping it back.
I've had a plush for the past 2.5 years and absolutely love it. I don't know why people hate it but like others have said, turn the mattress around every 6 months or so, use a featherbed, and it doesn't get much better for the price.

Read in a prior thread that this mattress is the same/similar to the Simmons Beautyrest Classic Sunflower Mattress. If that's the case, Just got an ad from Macy's. They are having a "one day sale" which advertises 45-50% off mattresses this coming saturday on both Plush and Firm pillowtop:
Twin 2pc Reg: $1792, Sale: $697 Full 2pc Reg: $1879, Sale: $787 Queen 2pc Reg:$1899, Sale: $797 King 3pc Reg: $2589, Sale $1197
Free Delivery, setup, and removal. comes out to be similarly priced, but at least you can check it out in person to see how it feels.

I dunno. Nowadays, when I think of hotel mattresses, I think of bedbugs. I know it might be unfair, since I assume these are new (not used), still I can't imagine rolling around with a bunch of little biters underneath you, chomping into you. I guess that's why I don't travel anymore.

I have a W hotel bed (full size plush top) and now it just sits in an unused room. I'm 5'6" 180 lbs and noticed sagging within a year or so. We rotated it regularly but you can definitely feel where the two people normally lie. The best sleep I would get was when I took a nap in the middle of the day and could sleep in the center where it was still semi-normal.
Like a previous poster said, I need to look up the warranty. The issue I believe is that you need to be able to measure the indentation (5 inches maybe) but it doesn't really show when its just lying there. You don't know its there until you lay down. I would personally recommend against buying one but it appears a lot of people are pretty satisfied with it after adding some type of topper.
5 inch? iirc my expensive black rosalyn is 1.5" indent pillowtop (take a pic using your digital camera) and they'll ship you a new mattress up to 10 years - no charge. i can guarantee i'll get a mattress or two by 5 years kids love to jump of the poor thing.
Thinking about buying this but it doesn't work. Cart self-empties.

The same is here. I have had the W king plush mattress for 20 months and it started sagging after 5 month. Now I can't sleep in the middle of the bad when I alone because I slip to the sides.

I always like to try the mattress before I buy them. Where can I try it before the purchase? It says it is a Simmons Beautyrest... Which model is it? anyone knows?

If any one in northern VA buying King Mattress only, please let me know. I need low-profile box springs, which are not available for sale separately. I'll pay the difference and pick it up myself. I made the mistake of buying regular box springs which are too high.

Just bought a pillowtop queen with a featherbed topper using old code. Unfortunately was quoted 2-3 weeks for delivery to San Diego Hoping it gets here sooner!

Yes, mattresses that flip are still made and sold. Verlo has stores in several states, and they will ship. I refuse to buy another "non-flippable" mattress. LINK!
