Will these work for existing customers?

I did the $20 a month internet the last time this deal was around...works great. Actually I did not sign up for cable TV, but the tuner in my cheap LCD TV seems to decode the channels just fine so I have cable tv and high speed internet for $20 a month! I actually got some porn on one channel the first night I had it hooked up but it's been gone ever since. Can't win them all...

Clearwire is an absolute joke. Just google Clearwire sucks in rip off reports. First, they make you buy a 50-$100 modem. Next, they make you sign a 2 year contract with a $250 termination fee. Lastly, they have some of the worst service in the country. Its a great concept, but is 2-3 years away from Comcast speed and service NOW. By that time clearwire will be 6-10mbps at best, Comcast will be 20-30mbps. My friend in Seattle signed up for them and regretted it big time.

The OP is just another market specific promotion. I got the same, sans $29.99, rather I got Digital Preferred for $39.99 for a year, HSI for $19.99 for 12 months (12 MB plan), Starz Free, HBO for $5.99 for 6 months, Encore, for $5.99 for 6 months, and Showtime for $9.99 for 12 months.

I would reduce the CAPS in the title, and clarify to call for the best rep to help you. I am an existing customer. This was all rerated on June 13, to the Morgan Hill, Ca Call Center. The Rep was leaving the call center, and relocate to the Concord, Ca call center which is one hour closer to his home.

This is more of a deal discussion, on how to acheive the best deal.

comcast atlanta requires basic cable or telephone service or you pay a large penalty fee (equivalent to basic cable).

i've never had a fixed rate of less than about $70/month (premium tier speed) and i dislike cable and use directv or dish.

i finally gave in and got the telephone service since it was redundant to spend money on bellsouth however bellsouth has higher uptime.

Clear is doing NO CONTRACTS in Atlanta. I cannot get anything better than 3meg from DSL and then it's not much better than 2.

With Clear I get 5 plus easy. I pay $55 a month for a home modem / router and I also get a usb modem for my laptop. I have the ability to roam around and pay $55 -vs- DSL for $43.00 a month and I have better service.

Got $19.99 HSI for a year with $25 installation in the bay area,CA today. I already have basic cable.

First the rep told me I could get it only for 6 months and the 12-month offer was only for new cable/internet customers. Also installation fee was $99 initially and then got reduced to $25.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. Our introductory rate went from $47 a month to $123 for our Comcast digital cable service in CT. I tried the online chat, they wouldn't do anything for us. I called twice trying to get the rate lowered, and the second call hit the right person. We locked in for 2 years at a $54.95 for cable, HBO, and DVR. I was never offered the option of locking in before -- for us it's the smart move as we don't have any other choices in our area. No Verizon or AT&T, and no signal for a dish. I HATE Comcast, but it's our only option other than an antenna.

Keep calling, it just takes the right person to answer the phone. They'd rather keep your business.

As a former Comcast customer I just want to say I wouldn't take free water from them if I was on fire.

Wow, a lot of hate for Comcast. I can't complain. I have the choice of either DSL from AT&T or Comcast. Been with them 2 years and it has never flinched on me.
I am getting 20mbs downloads and I pay for 6mbs. What's not to like.
If I am on fire they are welcome to give me their water.

How much do you pay for 6mbps? I pay $42.95/month for "Performance" 12mbps. I asked if there was a slower speed that costs less, and was told that 1mbps was the only option. Nothing in between!?

if you have docsis 3.0 modem in certain parts of town you'd see alot more than that on speedtest. they powerboost to like 50mbps even if you have a 12mbps plan with docsis 3.0.

the reason you saw 20mbps was powerboost. it's really weird sometimes they leave it online.

i've been uploading at powerboost speed (normal is 89k/sec powerboost is like 220-260k/sec) all night long. wake up and still going. no slowdown.

Every once in a blue moon i'll see the 20mbps power boost last longer than 16meg like for 5+ minutes. i just assume their headend is broken or they are doing field tests.
