Thanks again, OP!

It would be helpful if you provided your full name and street address?
Thanks!

Which QAM channels can I expect if I sign up for internet only plan? Assuming the tech did put in a filter.

Most of the time the major networks are available, NBC, CBS, PBS etc. Beyond that it is hit and miss by area.
I get the major networks along with National Geographic channel along with some other random stuff that I have found to be useless, "WE" channel for example.
This is with the minimum standard 2-13 channel package by the way.

Just had mine installed - does it take an hour or so for everything to kick in?

Speeds are horrible right now =P (but less than half an hour since install)

I got this deal without tv but my tuner picks up about 30 channels. More than basic cable. All the networks, cnn's, espn's, comedy central, etc.

You are getting channels with the cable they ran specifically for the internet?

Any in HD?

I just did live chat with their customer service rep. She said in order to get this $19.99/mon promo you need to sign a contract. Is that true?

LandOfTheFreebies said:Wasn't a Comcast subscriber before. Just online chatting with a Comcast sales rep and got 12 months of $19.99 12Mbps internet; there's one-time installation fee of $25 and $3/month modem lease, tax excludes. Currently on AT&t $30 DSL pro 3Mbps. Cannot wait to experience cable modem internet. Thanks for the tip, OP.

Just call 800-945-2288 and spoke with a rep; he gave me $15 off on $25 installation fee. Good enough. Will have my Comcast internet setup this Friday.

No contract for me for the 1-year $19.99

I moved from one part of Sunnyvale to another two Saturday's ago and ATT told me 1.5 Mbps is the fastest speed available at my new location. I had been paying $17.50 a month for 6 Mbps and now will have to pay $20 for 1.5 Mbps, man, that sucks. At the end of the day that Saturday, a Comcast sales agent was going door to door and said I can get 12 Mbps for 19.99 a month and I didn't have to subscribe to their cable tv. I said sign me up and had the cable internet up and running the following Tuesday. Needless to say I told ATT to take a hike immediately. I just hope after the 12 month period the price is going to stay the same.

Thanks OP!

Mentioned this deal and they upgraded my speed as well as cut my rate in half for the next 12 months! Ergo, this is useful for current customers also!

So there's no need for cable TV at all, just DRY-LOOP Cable Internet (Comcast 12Mbps for $19.99/mo for 12/mo)?

Correct, I'm actually getting 15.5Mbps speed I get about 37 analog channels and 127 digital from my HSI.

Many Thx! Is there any way to also waive the $3 rental fee of the cable modem (or some deal to buy elsewhere)?
As a FWer, I just feel weird to have such stuff to rent every month, even for only $3.

I use it in San Jose area. No complaints. I have even moved to their VOIP + broadband service. DL max was around 1.6MBps (16 Mbps)and upload can get as high as 400KBps. I pay ~50/month for both.
