Self-installation kit is free if you DIY. $75 rebate with T&C applied. |

Many thanks to the OP for posting this. Received the $19.99 deal for 12 months in Richmond, Va., and they'll be able to install it 10 days earlier than the chat on the Comcast site was allowing. |

People always keep saying cable upload is slow. It is because of speed boost which is available only for the first 10MB/5Mb download/upload. That would not be the consistent upload speed. If you upload bunch of photos online you would know it. |

LandOfTheFreebies said:LandOfTheFreebies said:Wasn't a Comcast subscriber before. Just online chatting with a Comcast sales rep and got 12 months of $19.99 12Mbps internet; there's one-time installation fee of $25 and $3/month modem lease, tax excludes. Currently on AT&t $30 DSL pro 3Mbps. Cannot wait to experience cable modem internet. Thanks for the tip, OP.
Just call 800-945-2288 and spoke with a rep; he gave me $15 off on $25 installation fee. Good enough. Will have my Comcast internet setup this Friday.
No contract for me for the 1-year $19.99 I think Comcast Chat is pretty much useless- he was asking me $99.00 installation fee and after some talk, reduced it to $25 but no less. I think I will call the number above and re-try! thanks. THis is in sunnyvale, ca |

Mentioned this deal and they upgraded my speed as well as cut my rate in half for the next 12 months! Ergo, this is useful for current customers also! What area/city are you in? When I called a few days ago in Detroit, was told can't get this promotion 'coz I'm already on a promotion for $37.99 for 6Meg down. |

I'm only going to be with them for a year tops and I don't think I can find a decent cable modem for $36 so I'll just pony up the $3/mo for their rental unit. |

MB does NOT = Mb MB = megaBYTE Mb = megaBIT
Hence KB does NOT = Kb
1 Byte = 8 BIT Wow...you fail... On topic, does anyone know what happens when you move? Would I be able to transfer the service like DSL or would I have to cancel (since it's no contract) and resign up (risk losing the "deal")?

It moves with you so you can continue to enjoy the deal you got. I asked the same question to Comcast and that is what they said. |
