In Massachusetts you will be charged with assault ! Unless he/she fires first them by all means give him a tap or two but not more than a reasonable amount of blows to subdue him/her.
For those of you thinking of buying this to install on an existing AK you own, think again. You need to check the BATFE regulations regarding stocks on AK rifles. I know for a fact you can't legally put one of these on a Chinese MAK-90. You have to have at least 10 American made compliance parts on a Chinese AK before you can even put an American stock set like this on it. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me. I wish I was, because laws like this are moronic and they only hurt law abiding gun owners. The gun isn't any less powerful with a Romanian stock on it.

I don't think they have made the SKS for a long time. I have seen both made in Romania, Poland , China, Russia and on and on. I think the deluge of SKS's that we started seeing in the 80's were and still are Viet Nam era and earlier used and warehoused NOS guns. I saw many dealers unpacking cases of them and cleaning the cosmolene off of them to put them on the shelf. I can't think of many things that haven't been made or copied in China. I read recently that Chinese auto manufacturers are keeping their R&D costs down by buying parts made for other cars of all kinds by Chinese manufacturers for other companies at Chinese prices and then making their cars fit the parts instead of having to design parts to fit their cars.

The law is actually that qualifying firearms can have no more than 10 import parts (details). Most AKs have 16 parts that are on the list, so when folks build an AK, if they worry about 922r at all, they replace 6 import parts with US parts. Most often the swapped parts are the trigger group, 3 parts, the receiver, a muzzle attachment, and pistol grip (details).
Note that phrase, "if they worry about 922(r) at all." It seems that there are very few, if any at all, documented cases of individuals being charged with violating 922(r) by itself, although there are a few cases of the violation being added to enhance other charges, so a lot of folks simply ignore 922(r) all together.
