I personally own this drive and use it regularly with my ASUS 1000HE netbook. It works fantastic, and I've used it to burn Lightscribe images as well. You do need to use the included AC adapter when burning Lightscribe images. This ships with an OEM copy of Nero as an added bonus! The drive looks great and works great. Very small and lightweight.
NOTE: This particular drive is BURGUNDY in color! If that's an issue, then don't buy the drive!

I own this drive and a 1000HE and have experienced ZERO issues. Keep in mind that while viewing works fine on USB only power, but burning and especially lightscribe label burning are going to require the use of the included power brick. But this is going to be true of any USB powered DVD burner that I know of.
This is the lowest price on the net for this model drive. It's also one of the few that comes with Nero and also has lightscribe.
