My contract ended this month.
I had the 14.99 step up plan last year which was downgraded to the 19.99 step up plan in Jan.

I called Vonage today and told them I was going to cancel my line.
They transfered me to the cancellation department in Philippine

The nice woman asked why I was canceling.
I told them I saw Tmobile had a plan for 9.99
"I would like to convert my account to the $14.99 unlimited step up plan for 6 months."
"I would also like 1 month free."
Both requests were met within 3 mins.

Post your experiences.. GOOD LUCK

Spoke to what sounded like a cutie in the Philipinnes and got this deal with no problems - 3 minute call. Moving from an expiring annual plan and want the flexibility to try out Ooma Telo when it comes out and then cancel Vonage if Ooma works out. My one question is if i will be able to port out my number from Vonage - it was ported in to Vonage from Sunrocket.

Been with Vonage since June 2003 and have been pretty happy - my wife has forgotten we don't have a 'reguklar landline' so probably silly to try something different but I kinda feel like a change!

Yes you should be able to port your number. As long as you are out of the 2 year commitment. Make sure to notify your new carrier before terminating your Vonage.

I thought it was a 1 year commitment?

Are you guys getting offered the $14.99 and two free months after threatening to cancel, or are you specifically asking for it?

I threatened to cancel back in 07 and I've been on the $14.99 unlimited since then:

'Cancel Service' and then it took 2 people before I was able to get 14.99 for 6mo. Only 1 month of free service. 10-15 minutes.

I tried to cancel my service and then i talked to a customer rep for couple of minutes and initially she gave 1 month free but when i asked for 14.99$ plan she said she could give it to me for 6 months but then again she said no free month.but i asked her again and she checked and said she couldn't do it.

Got $14.99 on two lines for 6 months + 1 month free. Had to talk to "Account Manager" b/c the regular reps would only offer $19.99.

I just got the world residential plan for $24.99 with unlimited calling to over 60 countries. If anyone wants to sign up and get two months free they can use this link - Vonage. We both will get two months free each.
