or, certificate for free upgrade if you purchase vista after July 1.
Details here.

EDIT: Link is now broken (hence the plethora of red). Look for details later this evening when Win7 is released.
EDIT2: Link fixed with a different source.

From the original link:
We're giving EggXperts an early heads up -- Newegg will be accepting pre-orders for an as-yet-unannounced product of great public interest starting Thursday evening! The best part is that these pre-orders will be very attractively priced.
The word we have as of now is that two different products will be available in limited quantities. The item pages should go live at (or around) 9:00 PM PT on Thursday, June 25th!

Mystery Product #1
This item will have Free Shipping!

Mystery Product #2
This item will also have Free Shipping!
As a completely unrelated and off-topic side note, we would like to mention that the release date for Windows 7 is October 22, 2009.
As with all early warnings, please bear in mind that there's a possibility that this information may change.
ALSO -
Starting Friday, June 26th, copies of Windows Vista sold on Newegg will include a coupon for a free upgrade to Windows 7, once it is released!
Happy Weekend EggXperts!
Best Regards,
The EggXpert Team

US: Windows 7 Home Premium ($49.99) and Windows 7 Professional ($99.99)

Details here.

That site requires me to register to even view the thread. I hate those types of forums.

Anyway, this is mostly a repost of this thread about Windows 7 pre-orders starting June 26, EST:

Thanks OP!

Dunno why all the red. I'd rather give my money to the Egg than to Worst Buy..

The OP got red because he didn't provide a link at first.

Many more retailers are going to offer these pre-orders than just Newegg and Best Buy. I've read that Amazon is confirmed as another retailer that will offer this. It's likely Staples and other retailers that carry Windows will offer it as well.

Who has the best FatCash back?

Wow, lots of red. Yeah, the link is broken now, but it was up without requiring registration for a while. Anyways, I'll update the post as soon as details come out with a new link.marsilies said: BigDave said: Dunno why all the red.

Link has always been there, but it's broken now... I don't think I'm responsible for eggxpert moving content; I'll update as soon as there's an official announcement.

Worst Buy < Newegg < Amazon

Ok, I updated the post with a new link:
http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/6/25/first-pre-sales-of-windows-7-hit-today.aspx
(conjecture) Note that they had to remove the previous announcement (which is why the link stopped working) because of their NDA.

They will be offering pro and premium upgrade presales late this evening.

Don't take the red personally. The rating system is to judge the quality of the thread/post, not the value of the person posting. It's just your bad luck that you posted a link that broke almost immediately afterward.

So can I get the "upgrade" price if I "downgrade" from Vista Ultimate to Vista Professional?

Hater said: Worst Buy < Newegg < AmazonNewegg's better than Amazon 90% of the time. Worst Buy may have the occasional deal, but otherwise doesn't even belong in a list with the other two.

Not if you're a prime member with Amazon.

How would you downgrade?

telstar said: So can I get the "upgrade" price if I "downgrade" from Vista Ultimate to Vista Professional?I'd wait. There's discussion about including it as an ultimate extra in Vista Ultimate. Since the leaked press releases don't indicate an ultimate upgrade, I'd wait for Microsoft to make a move before downgrading or reinstalling. You've got plenty of time to wait.

I'll go with Amazon, free 2 days shipping

Just contacted Stapl3s earlier today and neither the corporate nor our district office has any idea about this promo. You'd think they are diligent in competition...

No just diligent in keeping their employees in the dark.

Or, they're not telling you they know about it.

I found it at Amazon.com for $49.99 (Home Premium) and $99.99 (Pro) - and I can get it the day it comes out.

check out www.amazon.com/windows7

appears to be the regular price no deal here...

What happened to Newegg deal?

sardarji said: What happened to Newegg deal?Sold out (meaning the person at Newegg that was supposed to set the quantity for this deal yesterday screwed up the number OR totally underestimated the # of people that would want it).

Newegg has listings up, but you can't pre-order it yet. Amazon has working links. Check out this thread.

have you compared Amazon prices, to local stores.
Amazon prices are more than Target and Wal-Mart even after i pay
tax at this stores.
