Got this video card from Staples today. Priced at $18.50 out the door. Got a second one from another store. Not sure of how good these are, but I feel the price is great. I couldn't find a SKU, but I did get the code from my receipt 751492347141. PNY Verto 8500 512. They should be able to find this when calling. Didn't find any other posts on these, good luck.

That only proves how really out of touch most local mom-n-pop computer stores really are when it comes to curent street pricing for computer add-ons. For example Newegg frequently offers the 512MB XFX 8500GT in their email deals for $29.99 with free shippping. Even today they have the 256MB 8600GT with DDR3 for $17.99 AR limit 3.
Thanks OP. I picked one up in Parsippany NJ and there was still another one left around noon. Last time I was there, I think they were around $40 on clearance.
This is a good deal and would make a nice video card for a HTPC due to the hardware acceleration. I built a system a few years ago with the 8500GT and using nVidia PureVideo, was able to get some really nice/enhanced video quality at 1080i (my TV won't do 1080p) with significantly lower CPU usage than the 6600GT I had in it originally.
Remove the x in front then replace the XXXXXX with the product ID# (not the item number)
Product ID# 194522 ?
How do you find the Product ID of an item (from an SKU# or UPC #) ? Thanks
It's tough.
First google the item using the item#, the word Staple$ and sometimes the words "product ID". You should/may find a few URL's that either link to the Staple$ product page or to a staple$ error (dead end) page. Once there, look at the complete URL and you may find the product ID.

Make sure your CSR doesn't call the store. That's what they often do. Put on hold = they're going to call the store. You don't want them to call the store. Don't be put on hold.

They didn't even have a space on the shelf for it. They did have the PCI version for $79.99 as mentioned earlier. It is clearance, of course there is no shelf space for it, silly. You need to use the SKU to check in their system or call the 1-800 to check.
Picked up the last one (I think) at the Sandy Springs Staples in Atlanta. I've needed a basic card for my HTPC for a bit and this is a great deal. Thanks OP!
