rbraden said:So you have a receiver, but you swap the cable from console to console every time you want to play a game? No, the "cable" has component out on one end, and splits into three 1-foot long cables on the other end, each with a plug to a different gaming system: PS2/3, Xbox 360, and Wii. So, if the gamin systems are close enough to each other, you can plug all three in at the same time and output them all to the same component input on your TV.

My receiver is full of other inputs and this allows my gaming only to take only one of these precious inputs. The rest are then dedicated to the TiVo, the FTA receiver, the HD-DVD player, etc.
Thanks OP. I have a cheap $15 universal cable that I got from WalMart. You can only have 1 console plugged in and it flickers sometimes when connected to a Xbox 360. Hopefully this one will do much better!
In the past, I looked into getting one of a box that did this, but you had to press which item you wanted to input, but there were reports (I think on Amazon, but not certain now) that it didn't work correctly. I wish I could remember more details about which item it was. Does this actually one work? I need one to connect a 360 and PS2 to a non-HD TV, since it only has 2 inputs, and we have a DVD player in one. Or else connect either the 360 or the PS2 with a DVD player (and connect the other console to the other TV input).
rkfwc said:Will this work to hookup a Wii and a dvd player (uses basic analog video/audio) to a digital tv (rgb/hdmi) ? No, this is a component output, so you need a component input on the TV. Also, it only has input connectors for the three video game systems mentioned, so no DVD player.

This type of switch should work: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=101...
If by "non-HD" you mean it doesn't have a component input, you could use the same switch, but hook up all composite connections through it.

component and composite are two different things. it's not going to work.
