How to do you get to this deal w/o using the link? I would like to get to this by going through my university's website so I can get a better deal. Suggestions?

IMO... Many member buy sites (other than Dell's own) do not offer all models and it is intentional, so as not to GIVE them away. My son works for the TSA and their supposed member buy cites have higher prices than those available elsewhere. They tell them it is a deal but is not.

Well when they do buy it for a large group, it includes delivery in a time frame, business support, and all that nicer stuff, plus then there's a usually a program included for upgrading at a cost. Support is managed more by Dell while it's still under warranty than your own IT support.
Also it's a reason you have to check every once in a awhile, some of those pricings are due to member contracts and such, plus Dell's normal site is easier to manage since it's all run by themselves.
Basically almost like how we have 500 dollar lug nuts in the Army.
FYI - Coupon in OP is good until August 1st, not July 1st. Deal is still on- Just configured one for 479+shipping/tax (~540shipped/ 7% tax)
/edit/ You could also just upgrade the video card (and required battery) and be at the minimum purchase amount... but I'd also think about going with the upgraded proc- T4200 seems weak IMO
