i should have taken a pic of some of them as i don't know much about tv series on dvd. they also had some dragonballz w/ (i think 4 dvds).

Dang , I was there today ..... gonna check it tomorrow . Thx OP !

they also had stephen king nightmares and dreamscapes for $6.

I was at my local Big Lots by 10 AM this morning and didn't find any of this. I got Superfriends/Justice League set for my kids and a Super Bowl history set for my brother for $6 each. Didn't find any of the TV series sets mentioned or any other TV series for that matter. I would like to have the Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas. Has anyone else seen those? I wonder if this was a new shipment and my store doesn't have them out yet? I guess I'll have to go to Big Lots every day this weekend.

Big Lots has become a bi-weekly ritual for me as an avid DVD collector. I've been amazed at some of the obscure titles that show up (Truffaut's "Day for Night" comes to mind) at their standard $3 dvd prices. Newer titles show up sometimes (previously viewed for $6). These TV sets sound like really good deals and I'll be hitting two different Big Lots when I travel to see family tomorrow.

Picked up the History of Rock N' Roll set for my fiance today (he's a drummer). He LOVES it. Thanks!

Thanks for the info!

I also saw season 2 of The West Wing for 6 bucks --- It might not be your political cup of tea, but the writing is second to none and the show is outstanding.

Q: What do you call a drummer without a girlfriend?

A: Homeless

I saw Seasons 2,3,7 and 9 of ER.

Cant find Dallas anywhere!

May have to go get this. Nice find!!!

I have to bump this because I found Thundercats today (S1 V2)! I have to go to more stores to see what else is there. I also picked up 5 Scooby Doo movies for $12 total.

Thanks OP! I am a big rock fan, I'll have to take a look at any local branches.

Just a thought......... Maybe we can list what seasons of what shows we've found & do trades. Someone in one area might find something someone else is lacking. What you all think. I'll start with what I recall about my trips to Big Lots.

Nip Tuck season 4
West Wing season 2
Six Feet Under season 3
Wonder Woman all season packages
Dukes of Hazzard. Only recall seasons 5 & 6

thats all I can think of but be willing to optain a more detailed list

My local store finally got in TV sets. Dukes 5&6, West Wing 2, Nip Tuck (season 4 I think). Still no Dallas, Er, Wonder Woman, Thundercats. Oh, they did have a stack of "Joey" Season 1. Must see TV!

OK, at the store I was at today in Baton Rouge I scored Animaniac's Vol. 1 & 2, Pinky and the Brain Vol. 1, and the 5-disc Babylon V movie boxed set for $6 each! Unbelievable!

Also there that I didn't pick up was Thundercats Vol 1 & 2, Niptuck Season 4 on Blu-ray no less, Dallas seasons 1 & 2 (possibly others), Joey Season 1, 4 different Super Bowl boxed sets, Roots 30th Anniversary boxed set, Stephen King's Nightmares and Dreamscapes, a Justice League set, a couple of Scooby Doo sets, as well as multiple seasons of Friends, ER, The OC, Dukes of Hazzard, Falconcrest, Six Feet Under, and The History of Rock & Roll.

Just incredible deals on these boxed sets. I wish they had the Wonder Woman sets, and of course more Blu-Ray's. The truly positive thing here is that we now know that Big Lots is starting to get Blu-Ray's, so hopefully there will be some incredible Blu-Ray deals there in the future!

Good luck to those looking for bargains!

The History of Rock n' Roll is a great DVD series. I actually had a music elective class in college that used this DVD as source material. To this day I tell people it was the best class I ever took.

Found Wonder Woman only so far in Vegas. The stores are nice. They should put a Pharmacy in them and learn how to merchandise. Then they may resemble the old Thrifty/Payless drug stores I really miss and boot WalMart out of town.

night court!!!

I wish I could say that. Our local store is somewhat worse than even the Family Dollar chain. Unfortunately I can say there are some even lower end stores that
I've walked into lately looking for milk crates and odds/ends. I;d forgotten about these kind of stores though I certainly remembered regularly shopping at these
places when I was a small child.

OK, from reading MisterCheap's post on this same subject, it seems that Big Lots in different parts of the country have received different season on Nip/Tuck on Blu-Ray. MisterCheap saw Season 2, and my store has Season 4. Who has seen the other seasons of Nip/Tuck on Blu-Ray? What we might consider doing is a season swap so folks can put together all of the seasons on Blu-Ray for $6 each, plus tax and shipping. Anyone interested? Can we put this together so everyone benefits?

From what I can tell, only Season 4 of Nip/Tuck was released on Blu-Ray. I just wished the stores I had went to had this title.

I had already mentioned that so far no one has posted.

I looked on Amazon, and Seasons 1-4 have been released on Blu-Ray.

So, has anyone seen any other Babylon 5 sets, other than the movie collection?

i went to see what dvd set they had today, to my surprise they had $3.00 set now.
I got:
Lois and Clark the new adventures of superman season 1, 2 and 4
Veronica Mars season 2
Top cat
The flintstones season 2 and 3
Jonny Quest season 1
Tales from the Crypt season 5
The war at home season 1

they also had

Birdman
Superman the animated series various season
Superman show season 1,2 and 3
the batman
and others i cant recall for only $3

My stores in Huntsville Alabama had limited selections. The best I got was a Scooby Doo collection and Pinky and the Brain season 1 and 2. I may try again tomorrow for the 20% off coupon day.

They did have a few:
OC
Night Court
Joey
Dukes of Hazard seasons 5 and 6
West Wing

a few more animated series that I wasn't that familiar with. Would love to have more HB toon sets.

Maybe they have more in the back they'll put out before tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath.

I'd go for the Wonder Woman sets & the Superfriends & other superhero stuff! My daughter is 6 and LOVES all things superhero. All my local SF, CA location had was Stephen King's Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Dukes of Hazzard S5 & 6, Joey Season 1 (Lots of those) West Wing S5 & OC Season 2 and not much else. Would love if anyone found and wanted via paypal with actual shipping??? Actually, private msg me and let me know what you have and I'd let u know. I LOVE DVDs!

In the Dayton, Ohio area I've seen The OC sets, Knot's Landing, Dallas, Nip/Tuck, Scooby Doo, West Wing, and Wonder Woman (a couple of seasons each). I've visited five different stores and didn't find the same things at all of them. I ended up with Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain (first two volumes of each), History of Rock and Roll, Night Court, Season 1 of The Drew Carey Show, and Season 7 of Smallville on Blu-Ray. I'm hoping to find other seasons of Smallville on Blu-Ray, as well as Volume 3 for the Animaniacs and Pinky sets. I visited the stores last weekend, and hit one of those stores again this weekend to find they'd re-stocked.

Pretty slim pickings now except for Joey Season 1 and Tracy Takes Off - the HBO show - one store I was at must have had 30 or 40 copies of each. Only found two cartoon sets (what I was looking for) - Flintstones season 3 for $3 and Animaniacs season 1 for $6 (both were hidden at the very back of the bottom rows) - and one copy of season 1 of Murphy Brown for $3, and I hit 5 different stores as I traveled around yesterday in Riverside, South Pasadena, Alhambra and Garden Grove CA. I did see a few copies of seasons 5 and 6 of Dukes of Hazzard and season 2 of West Wing but they didn't interest me. I saw no Blu-rays at any of the 5 stores.
