Thanks for the heads up.

However, I wonder how reliable these things are. I don't really care if they go south since it's only $4, but I worry about if there will be any kind of ill effect on my iPhone using these. I wonder if there's any OEM chargers that are reasonable in price.

Apple and reasonable in price rarely go together.

I'd check that auction site... You can generally get OEM chargers on the cheap.
