If anyone remembers the Memorial Day deal with the Kenmore/LG/Electrolux discount, it's baaaack! They have the same sale going on now for 4th of July, and it works the same way. Choose LG or Electrolux appliances and add discount code 9137kenm38, which is supposed to be for Kenmore (instant 20% off). There's a mail-in rebate form for 15% back on LG/Electrolux appliances plus a rebate for free shipping, which is $35 per item. No tax since this is AAFES.

Over Memorial Day, we bought an Electrolux electric range which retails at Lowe's for $2299 for $1284 (regular price at AAFES is $1889). Shipping was fast...had it within 1.5 weeks.

Do you have links to the two rebate forms?

Thanks.

Nevermind. I see it under the rebate page!

Once again Dalesd marks an AAFES deal negative because he cannot get in on it.

AAFES is for active Military and retired military. Department of Defense and others. If you have base exchange privilages you can shop there.

Not everyone can get in on Frys B&M or other deals like that. Doesn't mean people mark those negative that cannot get in.

Last time this came around I was going to buy a LG Washer and Dryer and it came out to about $1000 more at AAFES than at Lowes, just a heads up.

Max discount on the 20% is $500. If you can use the coupon more than once and you are buying a washer and dryer, try 2 seperate transactions.

Hmmmm, you must have missed the deal then. I did buy the LG Steam Washer and Dryer on the last sale and saved around $500 over the Lowe's/Home Depot/Sears. I checked them all. It was an even better deal on the maintenance agreement.

Green for OP!

I checked Lowe's online, and they don't stock LG. I was at our local store today, and I don't remember seeing any LG then either, just Samsung for Korean brands. HD has LG, however. This deal beats HD by about $200 if you include tax (calculated at 6%), and that's accounting for the 10% mover's coupon (or military discount).

Incidentally, just digging around...there's a good deal to be had on an LG microwave. The lower priced model comes out to $244.12, and the normal price (Amazon) is $369. My HD calculation (-10% plus tax) is $303.72.

can anyone order from AAFES?

Only military retired, active duty and reserves (even if you are IRR-not drilling)...

any deals on just energystar washers, not pairs?

I figure you can make any dryer efficient by turning the heat time/temp down?

Because some bases are remote, price matching is common. If you find one cheeper at HD PM and then add the 20% off, the 15% MIR and the FS. Don't need anything right now but I bet it could be done.

I thought about that, but the problem is that the coupon shouldn't work with this deal (coupon is only for Kenmore, but works for LG/Electrolux). I was a little worried that if I attempted to pricematch, they'd see the coupon and question it, resulting in a net loss though I might be giving AAFES employees too much credit. If I could get the pricematch, the washer/dryer deal would be fantastic. An LG front load pair would be $677 - $50 EnergyStar rebate through my local utility = $627/pr! At that price, I might even be able to afford the pedestals.

Just checked on pricematching. You have to submit a form, and their buyer reviews the information to decide if AAFES will pricematch the item or not. Typically takes 24-48 hrs but will take longer with the holiday so likely a no-go with the promotion.

Looks like they raised the price of shipping to $50...but has a rebate for oversize shipping.

When I looked, oversize shipping was $35 on the washer or dryer and ranges but $50 on microwaves. Of course, THAT makes sense! Rebate is valid up to $75 for shipping.
