thanks to these guys I now think all Staples listings are fake and just and ad to buy their coupons. I watched for months as they listed cameras, monitors and notebooks when the coupons clearly were for furniture.

I have an older acer 20" with the 1050 resolution. Ahhh, another case of "That was then..." 16x10 monitors will become increasingly rare as manufacturers focus on lower costs from a single form factor & production line (you've seen the price & rebate differences for a while as they shift focus & inventory). 16x9 is the new black, whether your video card supports it today or not. And yes, that will likely help drive a bunch of video upgrades over the next year or so (until the next new thing arrives).

Beg to differ ....The last Staples/Acer 19" deal (about 6 weeks ago) worked no problem with the coupon(s) . Paid $70 otd after coupon .
So outside of the res, there is nothing wrong with this monitor? I was thinking of using it for regular use while switching to my HDTV for games and movies. Should I pick this up or wait for another deal? :/

16x9 can suck on my 8800GT and mine two 16x10 monitors.
Personally I hate how 16x9 is becoming somewhat normal towards the computer monitor/display market, I rather like gaming and browsing at 1680x1050 and wouldn't go any lower (though I am stuck on a 1280x800 for a laptop , still got my two 1680x1050 (E207WFP+SP2009W) ). I would love to get a Ultrasharp soon though.
In for one...used the $25 off $100 from eJunkie for $1.38

In for one. Thx OP. Believe it or not this will be my first non-CRT monitor (and I have 3 PC's). Price was tight and one of my monitors was giving it up. Thx again OP. I used the ejunkie coupon as well. Came in at $79.78 with tax.

I've never been impressed with Staples. There prices are so much higher whenever doing price comps online. The resolution for this monitor is weak but it's good for elderly people. I bought my grandparents a similar screen about a year ago and they loved it. They don't care about resolution one bit.
It is amazing how 20" LCD has been shrinking (in pixels).
Used to be 1600x1200, then 1680x1050, now 1600x900. That's 25% less pixels comparing to 4 years ago.
Will we go lower in the future? Let's say 1600x800 (2:1), or 1600x640?

Couldn't get the $10 coupon to work and didn't want to do the eJunkie deal (just lazy) but I also noticed that the sales tax rate to CA residents is still 8.25% somehow. Can't explain that, but I have no problem with it. Maybe whatever county they ship from is still 8.25?

It looks like your talking about 4:3 ratio 22" screen size !
I wasted 2 coupons from e-junkie before scoring one successfully. Anyway they are going to expire tomorrow. If anyone have trouble with entering coupon, try to reset/delete cookies and start ordering from scratch.

4 years ago, 20" is 1600x1200.
You can go to craigslist and look for old 20" and see their resolution.
The problem with wide and wider LCD is that they take more horizontal desktop space while having fewer pixels. The width of 20" 4:3 is shorter than width of 20" 16:9.

Thanks OP. Needed a backup monitor for home, used the $25 e-junkie coupon successfully. Was slightly nauseated to discover that my $30 in ink rewards expired on June 30th. A few choice expletives were uttered. Seems to me they've shortened the expiration on these reward checks.

no, you will be charged whatever your tax is. Ours is 8.75% and my parents get charged 9.25% in LA County.
The initial confirmation page may not show this, but it will all be charged correctly in the end.

Ink coupons from bringing in old ink or toner cartridges at $3 each, max 10 per month.
usually not, if you are trying to get $35 off $100. I haven't tried getting $35 off $175, which might work. in other words, Staples generally only lets you assign one coupon to a certain amount of value of items, and once you've applied, say, the $25 off $75, that $75 worth of items in your cart is "off limits" to other dollars off coupons.
rewards, ink rewards, etc., still stack fine of course, since they are effectively cash at Staples..
ParatoOptimal said: The reviews say no 1080p, shoddy buttons that break and a wobbly stand. Has anyone noticed those problems? What would it have to have to be 1080p capable?
Shoddy buttons. I have two of the 22" variety in this series and am afraid of breaking the power button. So afraid that I leave my monitor on standby mode 24x7.
