Even though the battery life is only 5 minutes, it still averaged 3.5 stars on Amazon. Might be worth a try at this price.

Just picked mine up at Fry's and it came in a brown box. It looked like a new Dyson DC16 and had a two year warranty on it.
Also tested it out on the sofa (got a dog) and it cleaned it well. The power is about the same as a corded Dustbuster that I have in the garage, this one is just more convenient and stylish. Overall satisfaction is Five Stars since I do light vacuuming and probably will never use it more then a few minutes at a time.

made a good point - ! - it's not a vac., but a duster !
I have one that I picked up from Woot last year at the same price. From my own experience it actually works a lot better than a regular dust buster. Yes, the battery only lasts for 5 minutes...but that is 5 minutes of usage...you're going to have to pick up a lot of dust to kill the battery in one shot. If you're doing that much, you might want to use a vacuum. Anyway - for the price it's well worth it.

i have one, i spend less time vacuuming since the suction is so powerful. 99 out of 100 jobs are like 2 minutes max. its definitely not a car vacuum replacement, but for the kitchen, its awesome.
I don't understand the cordless value if it has cord as well as cordless it will never have this 5 minute complaint. I think they are worried people may fine other uses of it.
