If you don't mind having more language options and cheaper price, eBay has cheaper mp3 players. In fact, there are 8gb mp4 players cheaper than this. Well, they are mostly built in China though... But then again, what's not?
With one exception, those Chinese MP3 players on eGay are crappy, they ship from China and it doesn't make much sense to return them if you get a dud. While most MP3 players on the market today are made in China, the "big-name" manufacturers have both design and manufacturing controls, which cannot be said about those Chinese players on eGay.
Picked up one of these for the same price a couple of months ago. The nice thing about the samsas is expandability via microsd. Because of the 2.4" screen, the view is somewhat more suited to video than the e2xx ( I have the e250). However, if you are primarily interested in music, I'd go with the e2xx because they can be rockboxed, but the View can not.
I read on anythingbutipod that v2 of the exxx series will be RockBoxable by the end of this year. I'm not sure if they're working on RockBox for the View. Does anyone know?
I think the Fuze has the same sound quality as the Clip but I'm not sure. The Fuze offers a MicroSD slot which the Clip doesn't have.
I have a 6GB Sansa e260, I think it's called, v1 firmware that I haven't RockBoxed yet that's great. I'd like to get another 6GB or 8GB exxx/View/Fuze/Clip for a gift.

Cheapest by about $16. i'd say this is a decent deal, but 3 days ago i bought this exact same one one Amazon for $85. (free super saver shipping). maybe it's just me, but i'd rather pay another $35 bucks for the new product. btw, it's a very nice player; it's got a few flaws, but then what doesn't?
