last time this kind of promo was active, I signed up and ordered 1 movie. I filled out the online rebate the same night and I was told to wait 30 days for credit. Well, over 30 days went by and I never received any credit. The promo was over and nobody had record of it nor did anyone know about such a promo. After so much sweat and tears, I managed to get $5 credit. So, beware......

The old receivers can order PPV, no phone connected with the remote.

How do you get to it from a web browser?

I especially like how they still require the receiver to be connected to the phone line in order to order a PPV.

We have Dish Network and if the "box" is not connected to a telephone line the cost is $5 more per month.

As of February they no longer charge $5 for the first box.

How do you set that up, or was that just a smart comment?

Unfortunately, it's not a smart comment. You need to call Dish.

Dish does charge you $5.00 if the receiver isn't connected to a phone line. This is how the receivers gets updates and send in information to Dish, it has nothing to do with ordering anything. The receiver would only need to dial Dish at the least once a month, otherwise, be happy paying $5.00 if that connection isn't logged at the Dish server. That is a fact.
