Combo Deal from Newegg, seems like a good price for an Atom powered WHS with 2 TB of storage. The drives alone are $200 bucks.

Also Free Shipping.

Actually, they are $89 a piece newegg ... and it doesn't state what brand/model the drive that comes as default in the unit is.

The actual deal (as defined by Newegg) by the Acer WHS and get a free 1TB drive to add to the existing drive.

Any knows if they are planning on a Dual-Core Atom version anytime soon?

Seems like the best deal for a cheap WHS but wish it had more juice.

If you want a dual core (N330) WHS machine like this, your best bet would be to look at the Tranquil SQA-5H. But it isn't cheap, at what they are asking for it.

If you want a N330 based system, look before you leap:

Case: CHENBRO ES34069-BK-180 - $250 @ The Egg, around $200 at online e-tailers
Mobo: Intel BOXD945GCLF2 Atom 330 Intel 945GC Mini ITX Motherboard - $90
Ram: pqi POWER Series 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 - $24
WHS: Microsoft Windows Home Server 32 Bit - $100
SATA: You need a total of 4 SATA ports, and the mobo only has 2 so add another $40-50 for the sata card. - $50

So as you can see, you are already at $464 and you still haven't added the two 1TB drives that come with the Acer. Factor those in and your price rises closer to $600. This Acer deal @ $400 is a smoking deal.

I think that it might be hard to tax this little Atom, considering what you would be using this for. Now sure you won't be encoding any movies, but for backups, serving files and uTorrent I would think that it is fine.

Just buy an Acer AOA150-1635 from TigerDirect for $203 (after Bing CashBack and 6% florida taxes) and add the two $70 1TB drives on the front page to an external enclosure for minor savings, potential portability, and a built-in screen/keyboard/mouse

Remember that the 1 TB drive included in the computer probably only has a 1-year warranty through Acer....

you are buying the drive separately so the manufacturer warranty applies.
