FYI the two I got from Dell did not come with the Arcade disc. There wasn't any mention of it on the packaging either, for whatever that's worth... And yes, they are both Jaspers. |

Question for you smart xbox users, can you take the hard drive from another xbox 360 and pop it into an acrade 360? My kids have a 360 that has crashed, and microsoft has told me it would be $100 to fix it. I'd rather just buy a new unit at this point if it's just a matter of moving the hard drive to the arcade model. Thanks in advance for the answer! |

Thanks in advance for the answer! Yes, definitely. Since it is a different console - to get on Xbox Live you will probably have to verify the account, but that's about it. |

I concur - my kids and their friends swap hard drives frequently between various models of the 360 for the sake of taking their characters, games saves, and other data with them. I sure do wish I could get another 20GB HD and wireless controller for $39 like this last Xmas at CircuitChity. |

Thanks for the answers. I was pretty sure that was the case, but wanted to make sure before I pulled the trigger. OP thanks, and in for 1. |

I saw the units at geeks, I passed because of the open box message, and the fact that they did not have the new Jasper motherboards. This Dell deal doesn't guarantee that they have the Jasper in it, but other people report that they have received them. |

The little extra price for a Jasper is definitely worth it. |

Hey man, what Radio Shack? Is that their standard price now? Tax in RI is only 7% so this thing is $ 157ish instore? I'm going to have to call shens on this unless you have some evidence of your claim... And where are you guys getting Dell Gift cards to lower this? There's nothing on eBay w/ "buy it now?"..... |

mmm no idea. i bit the bullet on the Dell deal though. 186 or so after tax in CA. as long as its a jasper i figure its worthwhile. |

I went ahead and bit the bullet too.. went with the two orders deal. One for the 199 arcade at 15% off plus another 3% off for DPA (179 bucks and change).. and then a second order for the 60gb live starter kit at 15% + 3%.. (85 bucks and change). And I should be getting 3% back from Cashbaq too. 265 after tax for a jasper sounds good to me.. |

So, is this still the best deal on a jasper 360? About $186. |

I pulled the trigger after I got confirmation from the CSR on the other side of the world that these are Jasper units and have HDMI out. I don't trust him 100% but at least I have that to fall back on if it turns out false. I also scored a used wireless controller on eBay for $22 and and a used 20GB HD for $25 after CB. Now I just need to return my dying one to Costco for the $299 + tax and pocket the $90 difference. |
