Just left my local BB and they had the Sony KDL40V4100 on Clearance for $799.99. BB is offering an additional 15% off clearance items so you can get it for $680+ tax. I think its a pretty good deal considering someone just posted this TV from Dell for $749.

just my 2 cents - but before giving up the 2 inches, shouldn't you check with the misses???
2" are diagonal !

I believe its something like this S < V < W < Z < XBR. So, I would expect this to be better than S series.
This is true if you compare this year's model. The V4100 is last year's model and is considered equivalent to this year's S5100 line.
This looks like a nice deal, OP, but you have not told us which store you got the deal at. I would also like to see a copy of the receipt. There is a BB close to me that actually price matches stores outside its region. I cannot give green without more details. Thanks.

Please provide information on 15% off for clearance items. I can't find any references to current deals/coupons. Thanks.
I'm not sure if its just local or nationwide. I live in Raleigh, NC and I've seen it at 2 local stores in the area with the TVs. In both instances I didn't leave out of that area to check anywhere else.
I won't be able to provide a copy of the receipt until next week as I left for vacation today.
Went to the BB in Sterling, VA last night. They had the TV on clearance but they weren't offering the extra 15% off. They didn't have any new in box items anyways. They offered to sell me the display for $640.
They told me other BBs in the area weren't offering the extra 15% off either.
