dodealer said:There have been several deals posted on the new ASUS 1005HA since its release last week. The best one currently on the higher end version (1005HA-P with bluetooth, bigger battery as opposed to the lower end 1005HA-V) can be found at zipzoomfly. They throw in the free memory upgrade, making the combo less than the netbook on its own. Specs and link below.
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=1001...
CHOOSE THE COMBO AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE FOR THE FREE RAM UPGRADE
Color Black Operating System Windows XP Home Processor CPU Type Intel Atom CPU Speed N280 1.66GHz GPU/VPU Intel GMA 950 Screen Size 10" Resolution 1024 x 600 Display Type WSVGA Memory Size 1GB Memory Speed PC2-5300 (DDR2-667) Integrated VGA Yes Webcam 1.3 MP LAN Port RJ-45 10/100/1000 WLAN 802.11b/g/n Audio Port Yes Storage Capacity 160GB Card Reader Yes Number of USB Port 3 Video Port VGA x 1 Bluetooth Yes Fingerprint Reader No Battery Run Time Up to 10.5 hour(s) Weight 2.8 lb (with 6-Cell Battery) Dimension 262mm(W) x 178mm(D) x 25.9mm~ 36.5mm(H) Battery Capacity 6-Cell Accessories BAG I think the combo with the DVD player (also at the bottom) is a better deal. That is $399.99 - $30 rebate, so more out of pocket, but a better addition, in my opinion. |

I have warned users before that zipzoomfly will take orders and apply charges to your credit card, while they are OOS and then you must go through the hassle of filing a disputed transaction with your credit card. ZZF doesn't make good on backorders nor holding the original sales price. BUYER BEWARE!!! |

According to Microsoft, you must buy a Vista PC on June 26 or later (where they interpret Vista to mean at least Vista Home Premium) to qualify for the free upgrade to Windows 7. They also indicate that it varies by computer manufacturer whether they are participating. Check the info here. I checked on Dell's website, and they seem to confirm that Win 7 free upgrade is only available for Vista machines. Check here |

No reason to get winxp when win 7 is only a couple of months away. |

I spoke with Dell Sales Reps on their chat service and they specifically told me that none of their Mini's are eligible for the Windows 7 free upgrade. They told me it was because the mini's do not come with 2gb of ram. I said yes, but they can be upgraded to 2gbs, but they still said no because it cannot come with it from Dell. |
