As tempting as it would seem to go check it out and try to be the first 500, it's too near Boston. I can see the July 25th headline of the Boston Globe: Rioting at the Dedham LL Bean grand opening, 7 dead.

It's not that near Boston, first off. Secondly, I seem to remember a worker being trampled at a store in NY.
The new LL Bean store is at Rts 1 & 128/95, which is quite a distance from downtown Boston. I suspect they'll be plenty of cops on hand to control the crowds (it is a Friday, remember).
That said, if they have done even minimal promotion for this event, and if you don't live close to Dedham, you need to decide if it is worth the effort.
They are also open 24hrs during the grand opening, with refreshments and giveways after midnight of those days.

Deadham boarders West Roxbury, which is Boston. The term near is subjective as is the the area of Boston. West Roxbury is part of Boston/Roslindale/Mattapan/Roxbury/Southy/Dorchester(Savin Hill baby)Hyde Park etc... Put em all together and u have Boston. So is Deaham near Boston? You betcha!

I never consider Dedham as near to Boston. Most people consider Boston as in Downtown Boston. Anything else around there, like the ones listed above are called as-is with their names.
