Guys this is my first post. Haven't seen a good whey deal in a while and thought this was pretty good.
FitRX.com has the following deals on whey protein. I have used them in the past and like their whey compared to others such as GNC & Body Fotress. I have tried the Dymatize strawberries n cream and chocolate flavors. I would recommend the chocolate flavor. I just placed an order for chocolate peanut butter and cookies n cream.
Anyone know the difference between Gourmet and not?
BTW, I have the Gourmet Strawberries and Cream and I don't really like it. It has a bit of a strange bitter aftertaste. It's not so bad that I'd warn anyone away, but I personally won't buy it again. I prefer the Chocolate -- though I can't remember if it was the Gourmet or not. Anyone tried the Vanilla?

Besides the obvious difference in choice of flavors, Elite uses Ion-Exchange Whey Ion-Exchange Whey Protein Isolates, Cross Flow Ultra Filtration Whey Protein Concentrate(Providing Di-Peptides, Tri-Peptides, Oligo-Peptides, And Poly-Peptides), Whey Peptides,
Gourmet uses a whey blend: Whey protein matrix (whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, whey peptides), milk protein matrix (milk protein, containing micelular caseins & caseinates, calcium caseinates),

I had cookies and cream from Elite, and it tasted much better than strawberry/banana. Overall, chocolate flavors seem to be better tasting than fruit flavors for protein shakes imo.

Thanks OP! I've tried the gourmet vanilla before, and wasn't a huge fan of it. I really enjoy the chocolate peanut butter though.

absolutely not - what you should do is mix on whey with 30 gr on cassein. why and cassein is better but the problem with this product is it doesn't let you know how many gr of cassein you are getting.
the gourmet has the cassien and more concentrate which would be slower absorbing(helps keep positive nitrogen balance longer)
this product is one ive used in the past and have very similar labels as EAS or ON. I would actually prefer it to any EAS and may take natural whey ON over it if at same price

Hey,
So I wanted to give a more technical explanation of ion-exchange vs. whey matrix. For the record, I was a double major in chemical engineering and biology, so I do in fact understand the technical mumbo jumbo. So, Ion-exchange is a process that you use the charge to create a highly effective seperation between molecules. This allows you to very precisely specify a specific molecule (or combination of molecules) that you want. The Gourmet whey is simply taking an enzyme and breaking down a protein source (the whey) which has a characteristic amino acid composition. This will cause fluctuation from batch to batch as because of random genetic mutations in the strain of whey causing small changes in the amino acid composition. Also, the amount of time spent digesting the way may cause you to get too many small or too many large peptide molecules.
Bottom line:
If you a really, really serious body builder, I would look at Ion-Exchange whey. Otherwise, the whey blend should be close enough to the composition of the elite brand that you should probably blame yourself for not getting the muscle, not your protein.
