Yes, I found these on SD. Thanks to that poster for this info.
New Codes - New TechNet Plus Subscribers 25% off I have been looking for working codes since I missed the last one. Most of these are old codes but they all seem to be working now. Enjoy!
remember technet plus is not for use; only evaluation. MSDN or MAPS or DREAMSPARK or BIZSPARK or EMPOWER are choices if you want to not be mr. pir8 and use their software.

Some people take longer to "evaluate" then others.

Any IT person could easily justify using this. Even on my main computer i'm still evaluating and testing new software constantly. Now, if you go and start using the keys to load up computers for grandma and your friends...harder to justify. But it beats getting your software from a torrent.

I'm looking for a better deal than 25% off. It still comes to $283 with NYS tax

MS has been e-mailing me for feedback on the Windows 7 release candidate that I downloaded. However, I cannot offer feedback because the ISO I burned on DVD won't boot on the PC I built for the purpose. I wanted to try W7 so I can decide whether to spring for the $50 upgrade special or not.
Um, what's this got to do with this thread, some might wonder. Dunno either, but you guys are being creative with "loopholes" so I thought I'd throw this in the mix about "evaluations".
Besides, loopholes aren't necessarily evil. Sometimes, they're thrown in there for a reason...

You could always install it in a virtual machine. If you have XP Pro or something else "not Home Edition", you can download MS Virtual PC. I did my install into a VMWare Workstation machine and it worked very well.

TMSAM01 worked fine on a renewal - bumped it down from $249.99 to $187.49.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work once an existing subscription reaches "expired" status (one month after subscription end date). The option to renew is taken away.

I just checked for myself (using a renewal link in an old email) and you're right. I've been expired for one month and they wont allow me to renew (with any code). Looks like its a new account for me... then again, a phone call would probably remedy the situation.

Fail for recently expired account. Bleh. Green, though. Decent deal. Woulda done it for my company.
Thanks guys. I called in to confirm the subscription expiration and it is in fact another full year extended. Additionally, I inquired of the original cost and I paid $225.xx for the first year. I'm going to go ahead and renew the subscription at $203 (after tax) for another year.
Actually, I paid $209 after tax and no coupons for the first year. I wonder if they'll reduce the price that much and still have the 25% off codes... ahhh I guess it's too late for me since I already put my order through.
Can you install Win7 RTM (which I think is available this week on TechNet) on 2-3 PC's for evaluation? Are you suppose to uninstall the software after your year expires? Do they have anyway to check to make sure that happened?

Strictly speaking, a TechNet subscription is for evaluation only. You are not suppose to use these software in a productive environment such as work.
You don't have t uninstall them after your subscription expires, after all everything you have access to on TechNet are actually FULL version as far as Microsoft's concern, it's only the EULA is different than buying them off the shelf. So you can use them as far as you want, and as long as not in a productive environment, after all the agreement you agreed to are for evaluation only, but hey, who cares really.
amheck said: Yes, it does seem pretty gray, doesn't it.
People "evaluating" these at home, I assume?
Thing is, as far as Microsoft's concern, it's ALL FULL version as if you bought them off the shelf. The only limit is the agreement you agreed to between you and Microsoft. But then again unless Microsoft send someone to your location and ask for a paper copy of the license (if you bought them off the shelf) or the agreements (if you have a licensing agreement with them), they can't figure out if these copies are actually bundled with a retail or TechNet license because the keys you use are full product keys.
Besides, as far as Microsoft's concern, it's still better than pirate copies, and you get to use as much as you want for a low yearly fee. It's a win-win situation.

Best price currently with coupon is $282 (with NYS tax). Wondering if I should wait or jump on this. There have been better deals in the past.

+1
Getting 20% of something is still better than 0% of full price
My subscription expired in March 09 and I just tried to renew but it says that there are no active subscriptions to renew. Is there a time limit on how long you have to renew and once you pass that time you need to purchase a full subscription again?
Funny thing is though that Microsoft just left a voice mail today offering special renewal pricing. So I guess I need to call and can't do it online...
Can the promo codes be used on phone renewals?
One last thing; does the expiration date for the renewal get set to a year from the date I renew or is it a year from my original expiration date?

You have 30 days after expiration date to renew. After this time you can't renew online.

Give it a shot.

Renewing an active subscription will extend the expiration date one year. Renewing an expired subscription will have an expiration date one year from activation date.

Can't renew if you let it expire. Atleast it's not letting me.
