I just went to the Target store in Livonia, MI and found the minDV camcorder in red tag for $129.99. In their web site it is still $249.99.

DCR-HC52

You may want to specify B&M and YMMV in the title.

I second that motion.

Deal confirmed at the east side Target in Madison, WI. It was marked $124.98. Nice price for a basic video camcorder.

I guess its a hot deal. But I would personally just hold out for Flip Ultra Same Price Amazon Link(Same Resolution, Smaller, Lacks a few Features).

I'm not sure this is comparing apples to apples. DCR-HC52 has 40x Optical zoom vs. just digital zoom. It has a lowlight feature called "Nightshot plus" at 0 lux. And records in a format other than MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (I consider a big plus for quality and editing issues).

I'm returning a Samsung SMX-F34 ($280) and replacing it with this. Sure it doesn't use tapes, but, the video quality in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 is just plain bad at these price points.

Got the last one (according to the sales dude) in central CT for $132.48 after tax.

Note: it does not come with a MiniDV tape or a firewire cable and the battery it comes with usually lasts for only 90-100 minutes at a time, so a second, possibly longer-lasting battery (Sony NPFH50), is recommended.

That's funny, I was very close to getting a Samsung SMX-F34 for ~$240 before seeing this deal.

You do have to spend about $500 to get anything with decent performance in AVCHD format.

Deal confirmed at Liverpool, NY Target. Was marked $124.98. Very good price for a basic Sony video camcorder.

When will the price drop to 62.49?
