Since OD produces so many coupons, and they're rather popular around here, I decided to change this into a living unofficial "official" thread for PRINTABLE Office Depot Coupons.
If you have a PRINTABLE coupon that I didn't post, please add it to the Quick Summary AND post it (so people who subscribe will be notified of the new coupon).
Many Staples take these. Some don't. Please don't clog up this thread with arguments about this. It's already been discussed too many times.
Standard Terms: Valid in-store, by phone or fax and only at www.officedepot.com. For in-store orders, must present this original coupon (photocopies/reproductions not valid) to cashier at time of purchase. For phone or fax orders, use the 8-digit coupon code listed below. To redeem online, visit www.officedepot.com/cart/addCoupon.do and enter the 8-digit coupon code; savings will appear at checkout. Coupon cannot be used as a credit card payment. No cash value. Not valid for purchases: 1) made in Office Depot outlet/clearance stores; 2) by contract customers with Store Purchasing or Procurement Cards; 3) of Gift Cards; 4) of any technology or consumer electronic products and accessories or media and software products; 5) of postage stamps; 6) of product protection plans; 7) of HP ink and toner products; or 8) of wireless, satellite, internet, technology, installation, mailing, shipping or third party services. Coupon is good for one-time use only, is not transferable, not for resale or auction and cannot be combined with other offers or promotions. We reserve the right to limit quantities sold to each customer. Limit 1 coupon per household/business. Void where prohibited.

RobThanks for violating "Rule #1."
A few months ago Staples had an official policy (posted on their website) to accept OD coupons. While never retracted, the information is no longer on their website.
It's to OD's benefit for Staples to accept their coupons - it cuts into Staples's profits. Staples/managers are probably hesitant because they're afraid some coupons are not authentic and/or don't want to lose money. Others are happy to make a sale any way they can.
I have a 15off50 exp 08/15 in Paint. I got it off a comment post on one of the deals. Can't remember which one. Don't know how to post it. PM me with your email address if you are willing to upload it. I can send you an attachment.

SD still has FW beat on this. That thread is very old, and the OP is no longer active at FW, AFAIK. Not much I can do about that. The last post to the thread was 07/15/2009!
As for what can be done -- use the quick summary, which anyone can post to, to list the current coupons. That should be standard operating procedure with any long lived thread.

The FW MODs can verify this with Staples corporate:
1. Staples never had an official policy on their site or anywhere else stating they would accept allOffice Depot coupons. They DID have a brief promotion posted on their site stating they would accept Office Depot in-sore coupons and store credits in areas where Office Depot was closing all their stores but that promotion ended months ago. 2. Staples DOES have an official corproate policy stating they will NOT accept ANY printable competitor coupons. This obviously includes Office Depot. Plus posting such coupons is a violation of Office Depot affiliate agreement. 3. Staples OFFFICIAL corporate policy is that they WILL at the local Staples store manaer's discretion accept smail mail hard copy competitor coupons subject to the original terms of the competitor coupon. ie no technology coupon restriction for Office Depot coupons means Staples is not supposed to allow the same. However as we all know that has been a YMMV. 4. Despite the OP' assertions VERY few Staples store managers will accept ANY competitor coupons. Those posting success are visting those same few stores.

Back to reality: around here 5 out of 5 local stores ALL accept competitor's coupons without hesitation. The same is true of the stores in the Chicago suburbs. These are the two areas of the country where I spend the most time, but my friends who come to me for buying advice in almost every part of the country also have no problems using them at their Staples stores as well. So if you are having trouble getting any store to accept competitor's coupons I'd say it is more a problem with your people skills rather than the store's policies.

I assure you that is NOT the case, because it means that OD would rather have customers buy from Staples and let Staples have SOME profit while OD gets NO profit. At the end of the quarter or year, all OD and Wall Street cares about is OD's profit. The whole reason Staples takes OD coupons is to keep customers from going to OD; just like OD, Staples would rather have SOME profit than NO profit at all if a customer takes a coupon and shops elsewhere.

I was recently in Staples and saw a sheet that an employee had left out listing discontinued items that could be given away to charity. According to the sheet, most of the items had a cost (and therefore a tax-deductible value) that was between 1/4 and 1/3 of their ultimate selling price. Granted, there's a wide variance in terms of mark-up of different items (i.e., these days, HDTVs have a notoriously thin profit margin) but for the most part, the customer who uses a $15 off $50 coupon isn't throwing the store for a loss on a given transaction; if the truth were told, I'd bet that sending out coupons ultimately helps a store's bottom line because coupons bring people through the door, and once they're in the store, they invariably buy stuff that they wouldn't have bought in the first place. Or, customers with coupons let their guard down and spend a bit more freely because they're subconsciously thinking they're going to get a deal thanks to the dollars-off slip of paper in their hand. Same idea with Amazon setting their free shipping threshold at $25 -- people end up buying items from Amazon that they would have bought elsewhere so they can get over the $25 hurdle. FW customers may not be as profitable as other customers, but they're still good customers who contribute to the stores' bottom lines; BB is the only store that insists on squeezing every last dime out of people and shuns those who don't help maximize profits on every last transaction.
i was in Staples last week. they did accept the OD $10 off $40 coupon but they would not accept the $15 off $50 Worklife Rewards coupon. they said that it was b/c that was a coupon with OD's purchase program and they could not match that discount. seemed like they were trying to get off from accepting the coupon on a technicality, but if they wanted to refuse why not just refuse all OD's coupons? have other people received this response?

I saw some guy use a $10 off $30 Office Depot coupon. On it read, "Go Back Smarter." I'm assuming it's a back to school sale coupon. I can't find it anywhere. Does anybody know where to get this coupon?
