I don't think Bluray is dead, but since I've been doing most of my rentals at Redbox and they don't have any Bluray format DVDs in my area (do they at all yet?) I haven't used the Bluray drive in my HTPC much since I built it a year ago. I guess that pretty much means Bluray is dead for me right now, but if I go with Netflix or Blockbuster in the future and can get Bluray disks, I'll be sure to get them as much as possible. The quality of the video and audio is outstanding. It will be awhile before streaming this quality level becomes reasonable and doesn't destroy bandwidth across the entire Internet.

It's a good format that is being poorly executed with lots of DRM lobbyists pushing for it.

Netflix. Read the Wired article about Netflix and how they want every single internet connected device to be able to stream it's service. Guess what, it's working -> Xbox, TV's, Computers, W7 Media Center, even blu-ray players.
