thank you Selma

Looks like a great deal. But it is not clear whether if you order 2 or 3 you get 2 or 3 years, or 2 or 3 copies of the same year.

In for 1 to be safe.

From Tanga, "This magazine has 12 issues per subscriptions and you can buy up to 4 years."

If you are "in for 4" then you will get 4 years worth of subscription, not 4 of the same magazine every month.

I started getting duplicate copies of Entertainment Weekly when I ordered a free or $2 subscription. I phoned the publisher, who extended my original subscription instead, including for the duplicates.

Thanks. That link also let me get a free subscription to Powder and Bulk Engineering.

Cool, perfect timing. I received my last issue not too long ago...
I'm in for 4 yrs.

The FreeBiz mag thing is a pain - takes 15 minutes or more, I get subscribed to a bunch of crap industry things I don't need and then half the time I don't qualify for the free magazine. In for 3!

I attended a MotorTrend car show 2 1/2 yrs ago and ordered the tickets online which automatically gave me 1yr free subscription to MT. I am still receiving free magazines...

Of the big three car magazines (MT, R&T and C&D), MT gave the worse reviews. They never saw a car they didn't like and the consensus was that their awards (Car of the Year) was for sale by the highest bidder. I do not know if this is still the case, but last I read, they were heavily influenced by the big 3.

In for 2 years - thx OP

In for 3!signing up for a free magazine on FreeBiz takes me about 5 mins, how long did it take you to sign up for the $2.50 offer and I always qualify, (you do know that you can make stuff up when you fill in the info to see if you qualify)

FREE is always a good price.

BTY: They also have One Year Free Subscription to Car & Driver Magazine

You are correct. MT used to award/sell Car/Truck of the Year to the biggest advertising spenders. I'm dating myself, but I can remember years ago meeting one of their editors who was ashamed that at the time they'd just given Car of the Year to the Caprice Classic. Yes, that wonderful steaming pile of ..... He was getting all kinds of grief but said it wasn't the editors call. The advertising/sales departments steered the final decision. Things may have improved a bit, but editorially MT has never been considered to be an upper echelon car mag.

That being said, for this price it's still not a bad deal.

MT used to allow car companies to submit basically ad copy and put it in the magazine as a review. They also didnt pick winners in their comparison tests, they just basically said nice things about both cars.
I believe in the 2000's MT got sold to another company. The quality of the photos/magazine has greatly improved in recent years.

I do not know if this is still the case, but last I read, they were heavily influenced by the big 3.Back in the 1960s, Motor Trend agreed to name a Toyota the Import Car of the Year because Toyota paid for the whole year's circulation. Also most of the writers and editors worked as "consultants" to the auto industry, and one of them, David Davis, said he would make a speech to anybody who paid him $5,000. He later founded Automobile magazine but is now with Car & Driver.

But does it matter? MT, R&T, C&D, and Automobile are just fashion magazines for men, not real car magazines.

Thanks!

In 4 one!
