yeah...it might be a roll of the dice....the previous one I got was a v6 I think....installed it at friends house....I ordered 2 more to see if I can get another v8... I can always sell them if not v8 but a dd-wrt router for $12 even if a refurb is awesome.
$12 isn't bad for a backup router but I just replaced my v4 WGR614 retail from BB with a Linksys WRT54GL and it works so much better it is literally like night and day. Got good service out of the WGR614 had it for probably over 4 years but the RJ45 ports are starting to fail and internet is overall slow on it. I have it set aside now. WRT54GL cost me $55 shipped from Amazon seems like it is always on sale. Oh and what do I do for gigabit? crossover. 10/100 is sufficient for internet as is wireless G.
