--This is my first post, Thanks for looking at this post.
My contract is expiring this weekend and I just called T-Mobile to let them know that I am going to swith to other carrier due to too much monthly charges.
After considering my used minutes month by month, which is average 300-350 min per month for two lines, the representatives offering another not-advertised plan:
-500 min to used per month. - unlimited night and weekend - unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile call.
priced at $49.99 per month for two lines.
Not sure whether anyone can call and get this offer, but it is a good rate for 2 lines with less minutes used. --------
Update: I just called T-Mobile and they accept 600 min per month with $49.99 per month with all the above feature. Update: finally extend the contract with MyFav at no extra cost, so total only 49.99 per month.

Out of curiosity, which (major) carrier is cheaper than T-Mobile?
I think it's a good deal I like you never used their 700 minute plan with two lines when I was under contract and believe it or not they actually called me after the contract was up and said they noticed I wasn't using my 700 minutes and would I like to change to their 500 minute plan for $49.95 a month I said sure and thanks for calling me and asking and I did not have to extend the contract. This was a couple years ago and I am still on it.

i rather spend $10 more for the extra 200 minutes (their plan $59.99 for 700 minutes family plan)
because if you happen to go over, it's 40 cents per minute. and that's just 25 minutes over equal up to $10.

I just re-upped for 2 years w/ T-Mobile under their loyalty retention MyFaves Family Plan:
600 shared mins My Faves 5 (Unlimited calling to any 5 phone numbers you choose, regardless of mobile/land or in-network/out) Unlimited night & weekend (not sure if I get unlimited mobile to mobile) 1st two lines were $49.99 (additional lines $9.99) they also offered me a discounted unlimited family text (5 lines for me) for $9.99
I also called and got the 12% AAA discount which has a pretty long discussion in the Hot Deals forum.
It will be a while until the new plan and discount take effect but I think my total bill with taxes will be around $125-$130 a month for 5 lines w/ unlimited texting and 1 line with 3G data. Not too bad, and much cheaper than At&t or Verizon for those of you who are/will be out of contract and looking to perhaps re-up with T-Mobile. I also upgraded my 5 phones @ new subscriber prices with the added bonus of not having to pay any activation fees.

Now this is what I call a deal. cheaper, along with the $10 UNLIMITED text.
That's the same plan I've been on for years. Actually, we added another line for $10. So the 3 of us split 500 minutes. Can't switch carriers because all other family plans cost more and I don't use that many minutes a month.

Thanks for posting this! I'm currently at 39.99 for my 1000 minutes, free nights/weekends and I don't even begin to touch that 1000 min. as most ppl I talk to are TMo too. On top of that I have my son on a prepaid. Since I'm out of contract, I might have to give this a shot.
Going to have to try for that 600 min/My faves deal, that'd be great for us!
This is used to be an old plan..then they changed it to 700 mins for 59.95.. ok deal for you depending on your usage. Best part is unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile. but if you happen to go over mins or use too much text get unlimited text and move to 700 mins. cause each xtra min is like 40cents
I have had this plan for years as well, the only problem is the plan is not in their system for web upgrades. When I try to do an upgrade online I get an error about the plan, and a msgs to call. This kills any Cash Back opportunities.
The plan is perfect for our needs, no text (turned off), 500 min shared, free mo-to-mo

This week I also renewed a two year contract with T-Mobile by callling the customer loyalty department: Two line family plan $50/month.(added 12%AAA discount later but not sure it will pass or not) 600 any time minutes unlimited night and weekend; unlimited tmobile to tmobile 5 my faves on each line.
Calling the customer loyalty department is really helpful.

I have used their 500 minutes plan for almost 4 years now. I got 3 lines in this plan and it is perfect for my family because we usually stay below 500 minutes. We will just use less and less minutes because "Google Voice" in the future. Let me show you guys what my statement looks like. I got this 10% discount from "freelancer" but T-Mobile just raise their fees here and there to balance out the 10% discount so I'm actually getting no discount. The total is usually around $70 after all the taxes and fees for my 3 lines family plan. How much are you guys paying for this 500 minutes family plan for 3 lines? The only problem is that you can NOT go to the local stores to get this plan and get some new phones. You can probably only call TM to get this plan.

I just called t-mo and got this deal. I had to call a 2nd time and get connected to "cancellation". The first time I called was via customer care, and the csr gave me all this bs talk that what I previously had was the lowest plan ($69.99 for 2 lines). In the 2nd call, the guy was all enthusiastic. I said I'd like to be moved to the 49.99 plan with 2 lines and unlimited nw, mtm, with 600 anytime minutes. Funny, at the end of my statement, he quipped DONE! I followed up by saying I want to make sure I keep my unlimited family text for 9.99, he again quipped DONE! Then I made sure this wasn't extending my contract and he said I PROMISE. hahaha Thanks for the tip OP! This saves me $20 a month from here on. Yey!
I've had a different variant of this for a while now:
Family Time 1000 (2 lines) - $49.99 1000 Anytime Minutes, NO Nights/Weekends, Unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile, My Faves 5 3rd Line - $9.99 Blackberry Unlimited Data - $19.99 400 Messages - $4.99
Total (84.96 - 10% Corp.) = $76.46 +Taxes&Fees comes to around $85
Thinking about switching to Sprint SERO w/ 25% since I'd like to add data and text to all my lines, and T-Mobile will cost me an additional $60 to do so.

this plan would be HOT if there is also Unlimited Nights / Weekends!

Nope, SERO is no longer available for LONG TIME. it's Everything PLUS.
Just got in on this 600 min upgrade. 12 mo contract cause I've been such a loyal customer for so long. Don't really care about the year anyways.
Be Nice when dealing with the CSR's for best results!
Regular customer service cant see this plan at all so go to cancellation right away.

I had reupped with TMO a couple of weeks ago at 59.99 (700 min plan, with no My faves).
After reading this, I decided to call Tmobile. When I called the first time, the CSR denied this plan existed. When I called again, CSR said this offer has expired but when I said that people were being offered this plan on Aug 8 and 9, she relented and said she would give it to me as a one-time courtesy.
subieaggie said: Think I can get this plan with 4 months left on my contract?
How long have you been with T-Mobile overall? If you get a nice CSR they should be willing to offer it to you, if you tell them you've just been thinking about your options because you're trying to save some money.

I'd recommend tmo over AT&T any day. AT&T nickel and dimes u 4 everything. Goto BBB they got check boxes for all the bad stuff they do. Check boxes meaning enough people had the same complaints they put the check boxes in. Not sure if you can still do some stuff but if you get on with someone grandfathered you can get the old deals them split the line. Me and a friend both have iPhones with unlimited talk, unl text and Internet 110 a month for 2 lines. Sprint told me they could match it I let them try, they said the closest to what we have would be 200 plus. They offered 1500 unlimited text and Internet and 2 palm pres, it was not a good enough offer...

Is that month to month that can be cancelled anytime or does that involve a 2-year contract? If so did they give new handsets?
Reason why I'm saying this is... Contract renewal without new handsets means (almost always) buying new handsets(read $$$$) after around 12 months. You might want to factor that into the equation.
edit: I just read the part above Then I made sure this wasn't extending my contract and he said I PROMISE.

Sweet. F--k the two year I say as well, esp. with T-Mo in this point and juncture... been with 'em for 3+ years, but now that I want 3G, I realize they are not the big boys on the block. as for 500 min/mo. I don't know how some of you do it... just me and lady... dont' call much (or so I thought) but even 700 is difficult to stay under... now way I'd give up 200min to save $10/mo.
Curious however, this $10 family text... is per line or $10 total for family plan? If so, wtf! I've been paying per line $4.99 for 400 texts for a hot minute now.

you guys keep saying 600, title says 600 but op says 500... which is it? hard to understand how some are getting 500 and some 600 for the same price.
also, is that all 5 lines unl. text for $9.99 total (to person I'm quoting here)?

Out of curiosity, which (major) carrier is cheaper than T-Mobile?
The discontinued Sprint SEro
Edit: Actually, with the tax and fees, this price is quite close to AT&T's price I paid before. I was with T-Mobile 2 years ago, for about 3 years, and I had big problem on coverage. So I went to AT&T, for $59.99 for 550minutes rollover and unlimited weekend and night from 9pm for 2 lines. I found that with my college email account, I got 15% off, which offset the whole price to similar as I paid for T-Mobile. I even managed to get 200 txt msgs each month each line. But then I found the SERO with unlimited txt and data. So, if you count discounts you can find for most major companies, colleges, governments... you will find AT&T not that out of range

chances are, you can get roughly same student discount with t-mo that you can with ATT. I know I can...roughtly 15% at either company. ATT - still out of range. they charge too much for everything.

I see... and $10 text total for as many lines as you want (i.e. no per line text charge?).
I'm kinda of interested in my faves too. Would T-Mo allow it for a phone that doesn't run it (even though it really doesn't matter seeing as how it can be adjusted online, I could see T-Mo using this as ground for denial) And this is free option to the 600 min plan??

The $9.99 family text is another loyalty service. The $9.99 covers all lines up to five. It is NOT 9.99 per line. I just wanted to make that clear to the confused, Also, like it has been said, when you call tmobile, after it asks for english or spanish, it will say "How can i help you..." At that point you can say, Cancelations, Cancel contract, Retentions, and a few others that will get you to the retentions dept. They have access to all or most all of the better plans.
I have a question to the people who are moving from $59.99 EM plan to $49.99 EM+ plans....
Most of us have 10% discount.. so, you get $6 discount.. So by moving to EM+ plan you save $4 per month.. which adds to $96 for the term of 2 years.... Where would you get 2 decent quality phones for $96?.... Are you not rather stay on EM plan and get phone/equipment discount?...
