So if I understand correctly, I can hook up two external drives, via esata, to the PC and get the higher transfer rate. Does this package include the cables I would need to hook up the drives to the pc/bracket? or does it only include the internal cables. Trying to figure out what else I may need to buy to get 2 external drives to work with this bracket. Thanks!

Looks like it includes SATA to eSATA cable and one 4pin molex power cable with a dongle to convert it to a SATA power cable.

Dang, bought this, but missed out on FW CB... 18 cents down the drain...

Thanks OP but got this off SD instead. Deal went dead OOS, then came alive again, plus their web site had problems. Have no idea if it is OOS again or not.

In 4 1 . This will come in handy . Thx OP !

Looked at Deal Extreme and they have similar pricing so no biggie.

Don't order it now. Wait until their sytem is stable. Phone call took 15-20 mins to get CSR. No toll free number.

Thanks OP, been meaning to get one of these.

cheap! and works great with low end mobos since they usually come with a lot of external connectors.

nm. no power on the aforementioned.

Just adding an eSATA port doesn't give you the full eSATA spec unless your mobo chipset supports eSATA, correct?

eSATA is just an external SATA port (with a different plug btw). The accessory mentioned here just plugs into 2 open SATA (internal) ports. Consider this as a cleaner way to connect an external SATA device to an internal SATA port.

Make sense?

Not according to wikipedia.

Still haven't received mine. Just emailed Meritline.

Same here ordered two still no show. They are frequently pretty slow but this is slower than normal. I will give 'em a couple more days and then follow up.

Totally nightmare experience from Meritline. I place an order from them for a month ago. Never received the product and they don't answer email. I need to go for credit dispute at the end.

They did respond to my email the last time I had slow shipping from them. So they were ok that time and the item did eventually show up. I paid through PrayPal so I can do a refund request through them and my CC issuer if necessary, but I will give them one more week.

Did anyone receive this item yet?

Yes I go my two a couple of weeks ago. Took 5-6 weeks but I got them. Still waiting on one from a later deal.

FYI - I found this same thing on eBay for $5.99 shipped from a guy in California. Add Bing 8% and you're a tiny bit cheaper and no long wait. I searched "esata bracket" and then selected "US Only" and organized lowest price first.

I was looking for an eSata card to go with my new simpletech external cases (from the Buy.com deal), but my motherboard has 4 Sata connectors with only two in use now, so this is cheaper and should work fine.
