I think I need to stop looking at laptop deals as after the Acer one,which I got, nothing comes close, which is a good thing.

Every other weekend or so, BB has a Toshiba just like this HP on sale for $299.99 that has the Celeron 900 (at a slightly faster 2.2 ghz) with 2gb RAM. All the other specs are pretty much like this one.
Edit: another post shows some BB B&M stores have a Toshiba T3400 dual core 2.16GHZ Pentium, Vista Home Premium, 4GB PC6400 DDR2 SDRAM, DVD, 15.4" for $300.99.
