This may be a YMMV (especially if it's a price mistake), but it's probably at least Western Regional - we're a good distance from San Jose.

So... This is my first posting ever on FW - how'd I do?

did well by doing the background work haha

Very nice! Link to receipt, review, and picture means green from me. Unfortunately no Costco by me, but still a good deal. Welcome to Hot Deals!

Holy cow - I had no idea Kirkland beer was brewed by Gordon Biersch. I'm going to have to pick some up now.

Great post OP. Last time I bought it in Bellingham WA it was $16.99...I am going to go and check again to see if the price has changed. Thanks.

at $18 they are already a bargain, but at $9.99!??!?! This is cheaper than PBR!

Good deal...must not being selling well if they are clearing it out at that price!

Is this deal for Costco nationwide or only out there on the west coast?

I'll be jumping on it if it's here in SE MI. Green for you OP even if I can't get them here.

we've got a Gordon Biersch brewpub in Atlanta - hopefully that qualifies us for some of these.

Green 4 u OP !! I like the Yuengling for 14.99 for 24pk at Costco too...

This stuff any good? Have not heard of GB. What does it compare to? PBR or Becks?

checked Burbank Costco still $17.99

Quite enjoyable - each represents its style well. I prefer the Amber and Lager, but all 4 are very drinkable.

It's really no surprise that Costco would opt for overall (ugh) "drinkability" in its variety beer pack. 3 of us have already made it through most of the first 24 pack.

I just bought this 24 pack at Poway (SD CA) Costco last Saturday - and it was $17.99. You got a deal. I haven't tried it yet, but now that I know it's GB, I'm having one tonight! Thanks for the info, OP!

I'll check mine tomorrow. I need someo stuff there anyway.

Gordon Biersch beers are brewed by Dan Gordon, the first American to graduate from the five-year brewing engineering program at Weihenstephan. His true German-style lagers are brewed following the rules of German lagers, and aren't even in the same microcosm as PBR or Beck's.

Even if these Kirkland beers are second-run Gordon Biersch fare, they're an absurdly good deal.

Definitely YMMV. NM still has it for $18.99.

I still have one of the Hefeweizens in my fridge from several months ago. Yuck! The Amber, Lager, and Pale Ale are surprisingly good though.

gonna make a trip to check this deal out =D
thanks for the heads up

Good find on the $9.99. my wife bought me the 24 pack last week. I agree the Hef is the weak link in the bunch.

green op for beer post how good are the "biras" ?!

Biersch - Kirkland Application

doesn't work

I really enjoyed the Hef, very crisp and refreshing for the summer heat. The others are great also, nice to have a mix of 4 moods

The GB Hefe at the brewpub is excellent, not sure how the bottle form compares.

Unfortunately religious fundamentalists have prevented CostCo from selling alcohol in my State. Hey CostCo - this I why I dropped my membership when I moved here! Lobby!

Wow, it's like $22 here in DC.

Gordon Biersch is one of my favs, never tried Kirkland. Unfortunately, living in Florida, I rarely have an occasion to get any.

Now is this b/c you don't like hefs (which of course there are people who don't) or you just don't think it's a good hef?

That's funny, the Hefe is my favorite. Try putting a slice of lemon in the beer.

It's an OK hefe....GB beers IMO are all just "OK"...but i'm a beer snob and I brew my own...so take my opinion with a grain of salt!

To most average beer drinkers GB is good stuff...its DEFINITELY no PBR lol...that was a funny comment. in any case this is a $1/bottle at my costco...so for $0.42/bottle...its one hell of a deal for a pretty good beer.

Interesting pricing. Usually Costco discounts items to where the price ends in $0.97 rather than $0.99. A one store closeout usually ends in $.00. You got a very good price on the beer. I will have to check it out, but based on the responses so far, I suspect that it may only be that price at your store.

Anyone know if this price is valid in Phoenix?

I'm only asking: Could we call our local Costco to get the price? I hate to drive 15 miles and find it's not available here. (Only asking, I havn't done it. Noone get exicted!)

At least you guys can get Yuengling, we can't get it here in Texas

Lets's share. I had this before and I love it! I still can't believe someone compared this to PBR, LOL. If it's 9.99 I'd buy like 5 of them to stock up. That's a steal!

You got a great deal. Bought these last night in Tacoma, WA for 17.99.

For those asking, yes - this is good beer. I buy these regularly, and have never been disappointed. Actually, have been pleasantly surprised - and now I know why, if they're Gordon Biersch. Seriously - even the regular price is a good deal.

Really? Huh. Maybe I have astoundingly bad luck, but I've never had a Yuengling that didn't taste skunked. Draft or bottle.

Not to start a beer war, but I finally got a chance to try this stuff. Most overrated beer I've ever tasted. Way too sweet. This is beer for people who add sugar to their Soda.

Stone, best micro around.

For those of you that shop at Trader Joes, they sell Gordon Biersch beers under their own label too (Its called Joseph Brau or something like that.) They will say bottled in San Jose, CA as well. Tried the Hef and the Dunkelweizen and they both tasted exactly like the GB bottles, but are $2-$3 cheaper per six pack
