Netgear ProSafe FS608 Ethernet Switch $15.99 After Rebate + Free Shipping at Buy.com Before rebate, price is $30.99 + Free Shipping.

8 ports, easy setup, good reviews. Works with both Macs and PCs, a major plus in my book! Cool and quiet, no fan needed.

Buy.com has the best price by about $7, with Newegg coming in at a close second of $22.99 after rebate.

Buy.com rebate form link <-- Expires September 30, 2009.

I'd consider the Netgear GS105 instead, even though it's more expensive. I have a GS105 and a GS108 and have been very happy with them. The 100 series is slightly higher quality than the 600 series, and the GS units are Gigabit rather than just 10/100. Considering that these switches are likely to last a long while, you'll probably get value out of the Gigabit capability later even if you don't need it now. Newegg has the GS105 for $35 AR shipped, and the GS605 for $25 AR shipped, along with the 8-port GS108/GS608 for $55/$45.)

That's a darn good price for those! Those are After Rebate prices, though, FYI. The rebate form is on the product page, so it's no worries

This switch has no gigabit.

The Gigabit versions of these switches (GS10x) don't work with many common gigabit devices. They are a gamble. I have a TRENDnet switch which is a much better switch.
