Step 1: Choose a carseat(s) from 4 styles here: Car Seat, add to cart Step 2: Choose a jumbo pack diapers, like this one: LUVs, add to cart Step 3: Go to BING cashback, click alphabetical D, and click on "Diapers.com" from there. (a carseat purchase gives you 20% CashBack. Used to be 10% and now doubles for a limited time.) Step 4: In your shopping cart, enter coupon 10PERCENT for 10% off carseat, and a referral code for $10 off diaper purchase (PM me if you need one.) Depending on the diapers you purchase, the total is $127.48 AC - $29 double CB on carseat - $0.42 double CB on diaper = $98.06. Free shipping and no tax in many states.
CashBack didn't show up for me until 2 hours after the order.

no coupons with bing
Yes it works with bing. I ordered earlier today and the CashBack is already pending. Up to 2 coupon codes can be used for this purchase, e.g. 10PERCENT and TodaysDeal.
FYI: The Recaro Como and Signo seats do not fit newborn infants well or at all. You should get a good fit as far as harness height and tightness around 6-10 months old. Newborns? Not going to happen.
Secondly, there has been a rather large recall on the Recaro Como's and Signo's. This does NOT mean that you shouldn't buy this seat or take advantage of this deal, but you SHOULD check the seat to see if it is affected by the recall BEFORE using it, and if you have purchased one of these seats earlier, then you should be checking as well. The latest Recaro recalls can be found below:
Received mine today. To my surprise the manufacture date is May 2009, even though the website says 2008 close-out. I ordered the blue one and apparently it's not in the recall list.

I bought one and got it yesterday. I discovered seat manufacture date was 7/07. I called to complain because that means it is already 2 years old. They took off another $25. So I guess that means I paid around $75 for a car seat I can use for at least 4 years.
BTW, they said there is no way to find out the date ahead of time. They would pay to have me return it, but if I wanted another, it might be just as old.
Do you think that is a good price for that date on a car seat? Should I just go ahead and return it and wait for a Woot or something?

What color did you order?
Was it reacalled? Thy gave you $25 just becase of age? I will do the same if that is all it takes should mine be too old
I got the Cobalt -- grey and blue. Matches our van. I'm going to try for the rebate. Thanks baboo! Hopefully they don't check out my order and notice all the other discounts! BTW, they did try to tell me I already got the 10% and $10 off, so that should make me feel better. That is when I asked for the supervisor.

Just realized the rebate is direct from Parents Magazine, wahoo!!
I've been in a series of PM's with another user concerning the age of the seats being received. I want to make sure that everyone understands what is involved in an older DOM seat, what you should be wary of, and what you should do. They are quoted below with the other user's permission.
Hi, you seem very knowledgeable so I thought I would get your opinion. I just received my car seat today and it was manufactured in July of 2007. Beside the recall issue do you think this is a problem? Should I return it? Obviously the safety of my baby is more important than saving a few bucks.
Thanks in advance for your opinion.
Wineaux said: OK, you do understand that car seats expire, correct? Recaro seats expire 6 years after their manufacture date, so you have lost somewhere close to 2 years of life from your seat. If it were me, I would contact the seller and request that they credit your credit card for 2 years worth of use that you lost. How do you figure your cost per year in a car seat? It's easy!
<COST OF SEAT> / 6 * <YEARS LOST>
So, if you paid $98 for the seat then:
$98/6= $16.33 per year. $16.33*2= $32.67 in lost usage because of how old the seat you received is.
So you want to get them to give you around a $32 credit because of the age of the seat they sold you. If they are unwilling to do that, then return the seat. It's that simple. I know that I wouldn't keep a seat that old unless I was being given compensation by the seller for keeping it because I know that I'm going to have to replace the seat 2 years earlier than I had planned, and THAT is going to cost ME money!
I would also suggest that you contact Recaro's customer support with the exact DOM (Date Of Manufacture) of your seat. They have replaced some really old seats with their new model because of the number of recalls that those seats have been affect by. It won't hurt to call them and see what they say. I can tell you that you're most likely going to be affected by at least one of the recalls, if not 2 or 3 of them.
PS... I'm going to post these PM's to the Recaro thread with your permission, as there are most likely more people who took advantage of this deal who are getting old seats like you did.
I would also point out that I based my calculations on the cost AFTER Cash Back, and I shouldn't have. You should use my above calculation based upon your actual seat cost, and NOT on the after Cash Back amount. Explain to any salespeople or supervisors how you arrived at the amount you wish refunded. The seat has a finite lifespan, and all you are doing is dividing that lifespan by the cost of the seat. Remember, you can also figure out your cost per week, or your cost per month if you need to make an exact calculation should they contest your 2-year calculations. Just remember, the seat has six years of life and base your calculations from there.
I also want to reiterate that anyone getting these seats MUST check them for recalls! Do NOT install these in your vehicles and strap your children into them UNTIL you have either determined that your seat is not affected by any of the recalls, or you have received all of the required repair kits from Recaro and applied them to your seat. Using them without doing this is just turning your child into a crash test dummy, and that is something that none of us want to see happen.

Got mine today (cobalt) with a May-09 manufacture date. Yeah!! But unfortunately, my Bing CashBack didn't come through automatically. I've emailed Bing customer service, but no CashBack yet. Keeping my fingers crossed since I don't want to return and reorder.
Bing double CashBack is over. The Como price for certain colors are also raised. The Signo car seat could be a hot deal. It comes down to $110 after the coupons, 10% CB and the $15 rebate.
grabthedeals said: Is the bing CashBack still 20%. When I look at the bing CashBack website, it shows 3-10% for Diapers.com
So, who actually got their Bing CashBack after using a coupon at Diapers.com? Usually Bing shoots down any CashBack when a coupon code is used. Are they paying out now, or are these beginning to get shot down?
what is all this expiration time, the car seat is plastic nylon and metal. as long as you don't see cracks and breaks on the metiarials, why should it expire? does ur seat belt expire? do u chang it every so often? is there any scientific reasons, or just some marketing or legal "op-out"? besides, which kid likes to sit rear facing after they can communicate with you? why don't we drive more cautiously?
Sorry. Car seats do in fact expire. The plastic degrades over time, and the technology itself becomes obsolete. Right now we know a whole lot more about the physics of a crash and how those crash forces affect child passengers in an accident. Not only that, but there are continuous advances in material research, resulting in better and stronger plastics, EPS foam, SIP wings, etc. Is a 10 year old vehicle as safe a vehicle to drive as a brand new model off the showroom floor? It is not. Electronic traction control alone makes todays new vehicles at least an order of magnitude safer than an older vehicle, and we haven't begun to touch on airbag improvements, cabin strength and structure, and the metals and alloys used to construct the passenger cabin. So yes, they do expire. Leaving a child in an expired car seat is not only dangerous and irresponsible, but it is against the law in most states.
